Freeeezee
Hello Everyone, I have bought Affinity Photo in the sale since I love Affinity Designer and wanted to try Photo. But I have a weird Issue. When using AF Photo, after some time, between 30 minutes and a couple hours, my Computer freezes and I can only move my cursor. Around 10 seconds later I get a Blackscreen for another 3-5 seconds, after which many Programs using my GPU only have a black output or I have visual glitches, like in the images in AF Photo. I have a ryzen 9 3900x, 64 GB Memory and an RTX 3080. Something like this happened only in Affinity Photo so far. I have tried reinstalling the GPU Driver and I have validated my Windows Files, but the Issue still ocurrs. Is anyone having the same problem or is there a fix for this? Thanks in Advance. v_kyr
Hi and welcome, well it's mostly a matter of the used GPU driver (it's used version here) and due to enabled OpenCL accelerator settings. When reinstalling a GPU driver it's always best to first completely remove (uninstall) the initial used one, before installing and trying out another version one. Beside that, if it doesn't help at all, disabling the OpenCL hardware acceleration setting inside an Affinity product might help (though overall apps graphics performance will decrease here then). To do so you can do it via the apps preferences settings, or in case an app crashes before being able to access and alter the preferences setting you can do so manually, or with this tool. Freeeezee
I guess I am going to give reinstalling the driver another try and otherwise disable hardware acceleration, Thank you for your Answer!
