Hi there guys,

I seem to have a problem with my selection brush tool. Previously when I zoom in, the selection circle would remain the same size.

However, when I zoom in now, the selection  circle enlarges, which makes it difficult to move and trace outlines more accurately.

Anyone know what I might have clicked to changed the settings? Thank you in advance!

The size of the Selection Brush Tool is user-defined and I would expect it to change in visual size when you zoom in/out as the size of the underlying pixels in the image grow/shrink in visual size. Otherwise the user would have to keep changing the size of the selection area as they zoomed which would make it difficult to select areas of the same size.

I think it’s always worked like this so are you sure the other behaviour you mentioned was with the Selection Brush Tool in Photo or Designer (wherever you are using it), and not some other tool and/or maybe in some other software?

I was using this in Affinity Photo and the change happened within the same day.

So initially i was able to go to zoom in to make the pixel bigger and my selection brush circle would stay the same size so I could really select the exact pixel I want. But now I cannot shrink my selection circle anymore when I Zoom in. And my brush size is already at "1" so I cannot make the circle any smaller to select the exact pixel I want now. Any thoughts or advice?

I recently started using Affinity so it could actually be the case where I mixed the tools up but I have only been using the selection tool since i started  thought.

It’s always worked for me in the way I described above so I’m not sure what to advise.
I’ve attached a video showing what happens if I use a 1px Selection Brush Tool size and zoom in and out - the circle stays the same size as the underlying pixels.
If you can attach a video showing what happens for you then the two can be compared more easily.
