Leonie
I am trying to place some pull quotes in my text and while I can do that, I would like to make the Speech marks at the start and end larger and of a different font, without affecting the leading of my first line. Any help please would be greatly appreciated.
sfriedberg
Here's one way to do it. First set up a paragraph style for pull quotes (Cambria, 12pt on 18pt, with decorations above and below), except for the oversize clown shoe punctuation. Second, create a character style for the clown shoes. I adjusted font size (48 pt), character baseline (arbitrariy -20pt by what looked good), and set leading override to the same as my pull quote paragraph style (18 pt in this case). Now make a copy of your pull quote paragraph style, as you will have to adjust the top decoration to bring it back down to the height of the normal-sized text, rather than the oversided clown shoe punctuation. In the attached .afpub file, look at paragraph style Pull Quote, applied to the top example, and paragraph style Pull Quote 2 together with character style Pull Quote Quote, applied to the bottom example. While I did not do it in this quickly thrown-together example, your clown shoe character style can certainly also change the font as well as the size.
