HalKahn
I just discovered Affinity at the app store. I have been looking for a replacement for Apple's Aperture and am trying to avoid Photoshop. Is Affinity a free-standing app that will work without the need for any Adobe product? Will Affinity work with Nik plug-ins? Will Affinity work as a plug-in to Apple's Photos? Does Affinity have any telephone tech support?
My Strawberry Monkey
Hi HalKahn welcome to the forums, 1. Affinity is a free standing app and does not require any other software like Adobe. 2. Some of the Nik's Plug-in collection aren't working yet, while others do work. This should be fixed as Affinity continue to develop check this link https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10137-plug-in-compatibility/?p=47516 3. No, Affinity does not work as a plug in Photos, in iPhoto, Aperture or Lightroom there is that option to keep your pics organised there and then choose Affinity Photo as the external Editor. 4. They do not, but they do have great support on these forums and the ability to email them if needed.
