Good evening,

hopefully the Affinity user base is fine! 🙂

I ended up here because macOS Catalina means that I can no longer use the last Adobe CS Suite that can be fully purchased and not rented only. That is why I accepted the current offer from Serif and was very happy to switch to the three image processing, illustration and publishing programs offered. It's really not a bad thing, because it's never too late to get used to new things or learn new programs.

Regarding Photo: I'm pretty sure that these suggestions have already been made here in this forum - if so, I would like to confirm them on my part.

In Photo I noticed that there is an animated progress bar for exporting documents, but not for opening and saving. This feels strange to me. I think it is superfluous to read at the window bar that a document is loading because I already know I am opening something ;-). However, if I have a large document with many levels, this information is not enough for me. I would like to know how long it will take or how far the process is.

Another thing I miss is a preview for saving and optimizing web graphics. Why has this been missed so far? After all, this program has been around for a few years ;-).

Finally, something about the undoubtedly very elegant  user interface of the program: Why are the icons and labels so small? Especially with large screen areas, this becomes a problem, at least in my view. In my opinion it is also of little to no use to set the default settings to "large", because the difference is minimal (working at 27"/2560 x 1440 pixels here). I would like to remind developers that there are creative people who have already ruined their eyes on screens for a few years. Even with well-adjusted glasses, it can sometimes be difficult to access the user interface, especially if you want to get to know a new application.

Otherwise, I'm really looking forward to getting to know the Affinity Suite 🙂 ...

In my previous post I meant "However, if I have a large document with many layers, ...", not "levels" of course.

Talking about layers: Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but if I want to move a layer up or down or place it in other folders, I find it very difficult in Photo to drag and drop this layer in the right place. Sometimes it ends up somewhere, but not where I want to. Is that also coincidentally felt by other users?
