TomZ Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Today, I updated to version 1.8. Not sure if this is a bug ... I have a document with 2 sided pages. The screenshots are showing 4 pages in total. On the first screenshot, the first page is empty and I delete it. Then, in the second screenshot, you can see that the following pages are moving around which is correct in general. But: page 71 in the first screenshot contains text in a textframe, and the text in the frame is gone after the page was moved (second screenshot, page with text is now page no. 70). Not the frame itself, but its content is gone. All of these pages are using one and the same master page with a 2-column text frame, but they are not linked. It also seems so that this behaviour only appears for the next page, on all following ones the text is OK. Sorry this is difficult to explain ... Quote
GarryP Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 I’ve tried to recreate the problem but haven’t been able to yet. The closest I’ve been able to get is when the text in the big text frame on page 71 is been linked from a frame on page 68 which only has a Frame/Page break in it. Are you absolutely sure that the is no Text Flow between the frames? Try menu “View → Show Text Flow”. What is on your master page spread and where is the master page in relation to the other layers in the layer stack? Check for any white rectangles on the left-hand master spread page that could be covering the text frame when it moves to the other side of the spread. Would you be able to supply a cut-down version of the document – maybe just the four pages in your example – which still shows the problem? Quote
TomZ Posted March 1, 2020 Author Posted March 1, 2020 Dear GarryP, thanks for your help. Indeed, it seems to be a mess of pages with and some without a "Master A page". I also have some pages Master A where I later deleted manually the text frame. I tried out a lot of things, but have to say that Publisher now crashes regularly when it comes to rearrange pages from left to right: it also crashes now always when I just add a single page somewhere. I think its also a problem with the mess I did with master pages / not master pages / edited master pages. I'm nearly done with that document, so I hope that I'll finish the job soon, sorry I can't share the doc itself. Again, thankks for your help. Quote
