  1. I use a photo editor and/or vector program once every few months, and just about every time I start your software, there's an update. While it's highly commendable that you update this often, not having an auto-update feature upon startup is inexcusable in 2021. Auto-update upon startup is more than enough; maybe add a 'not now' and 'ignore this update' button) for those that don't want to do it right away. Please do not install another piece of spyware systemtray icon that sits there eating up CPU power and RAM and that downloads the updates and manages my entire Affinity suite; don't be like Adobe, we choose Affinity because we got sick of Adobe. A simple auto-update upon startup is more than enough... it's already better than what we have now! Having to go to your website, manually downloading the new version and having to install it is really tedious when you have to do it EVERY TIME you start a piece of software; forcing this process on your users makes them disable the update checker and miss out on great new features (and you lose sales because they stop talking about those great features to other people). Look at how Discord, Teamspeak, Firefox, Spotify and many others handle auto-updates upon startup.. be (even more) awesome.. When we can go back to having birthday parties with family and friends, I want to be able to talk (nay, BOAST) about the Affinity suite and the cool software you guys make.. .. because I love what you're doing ❤️ TL;DR: not having auto-update on startup sucks; I don't want your awesome software to suck.
  2. I use Affinity Design to make geometries for laser cutters. My designs often have double cuts in the design. These double cuts are being translated from my design through a server based software system from GlowForge Inc. I've talked with them and they're showing me in there software that I have double lines on many designs. However I cannot see that same details in Affinity Design. There are several of us having the same problem. I see this as being a common issue on the GlowForge Community site. There must be a way to detect and or scan and remove all double lines from any design. Thanks so much for your urgent attention. Jericho Gallery IG @jericho_gallery Gen-4Layout.svg
  3. Hello, I use Affinity Designer primarily for software design IE mobile/desktop apps, websites etc. I like how fast and easy it is to draft layouts and individual elements in Affinity Designer but it would be very handy to be able to attach notes to individual objects. Why? Well, if I make an element for an app I might want to keep record of the dimentions, colors etc so by beeing able to take notes and just read them real quick would be a bit time saving instead of navigating through palettes, size settings etc to get the "relevant" information, not to mention quite easy to miss a detail. This suggestion is just about adding custom notes for various reasons, give yourself a reminder etc but I see quite a bit potential. For example, in the future it could perhaps be extended to allow to export each object to a stylesheet like template with the notes under each object. The notes would obviously not be visible unless you want them to, otherwise they might interfere with the designs. NOTE: Objects/Elements is just a layer/group but Objects/Elements seems more appropriate in this context.
