  2. It is impossible to insert a cross-reference component at the desired position in the Text field. Likely Mac only. Create an anchor Create a cross-reference - select the anchor Position the cursor between two parts of the Text field - for example, where the vertical bar is in "page | <pageNumber>" Select any component from the field's left-side menu - the contents of the Text field will be replaced by the selection, even though the contents were not selected Press Tab to remove focus from the Text field Select any component from the field's left-side menu - the selection will be appended to the end of the Text field contents There's just no way to insert a selected component where you want it to be inserted. Reported in this support thread.
