tomg35, you are not doing what GarryP suggested. In the Adjustment Panel, the LUT menu options are different from the menue options in the Layer Panel you are using. In the below video, 9.32 min in, you will find a description of how to batch import LUTs. Version 2 of Affinity Photo works the same.

The blue histogram in Levels adjustment is for my eyes difficult to distinguish from the black background. Particularly when there are few pixels present at either end of the histogram. Would it be possible to use a slightly brighter blue color as default?

The problem with this database is that the Metadata Lens name do not always match with the Lens name in the database. I have a Panasonic lens where I after a lot of trial and errors was successful after renaming the File name in the database to its full Panasonic name, despite a much shorter name in Matadata. My suggestion is that you play around with the file name in the Lens name in the Lens Profile database.

The file you drop into Affinity Photo is a jpg embedded in the raw file. I suggest you try File / Open from within Affinity Photo, which will take you to Finder where you can open the proper raw file.

Well, my problem is more related to people with very dark pupils. By increasing the exposure and contrast slightly, the eyes will be more vivid. Even in an controlled environment as flash photography, with a proper catch light in the eye.

Is it possible to change the default values of the Overlay Paint Tool? Every time I use the tool I have to change the size and activate Edge Aware. I mainly use it for correcting the eyes in Portraits, so the values are mostly identical.

The default size of the Overlay Brush is 500 px, which is always too big for me. Would it be possible to have the default set at last size used. In portraits I often use the overlay brush to edit the pupil of the eye. A size of 500 px is not usable, and I have to resize for every picture. I am using AP 1.9.1 and MacOS 10.15.7

My interest in photography started in the late 1950's, mainly in portrait and landscape photography and has evolved over the years to also include close-up photography. In Affinity Photo I mainly use the Develop Persona and Focus Merging, which have added a new dimension to my close-up photography. In the forum I have found loads of tips and tricks. In the tutorial they state: "“lens name” and “maker” must match exactly the spelling in the EXIF data". I have been able to create several lens profiles that load automatically in Develop Persona. One lens profile require a different lens name than the one in EXIF to load automatically. For my last case I have been able to create a lens profile, with the same name as in EXIF, but it does not load automatically. I have also tested numerous lens names without success. I would very much appreciate help to create the proper name, so the profile loads automatically.

David! You made my day! It finally works. Thank's a lot. I have tested to add Asph., thought about what you did but didn't do it. There is one line missing in the original lensfun correction file, and that is "focal lenght". Without that line it doesn't work. Have a nice day

My Panasonic "Lumix G 42.5mm F1.7" lens is recognized by AP Metadata, but not by the AP Lens Correction file. I have successfully loaded missing Lens Profiles from Lensfun, but nothing happens when I load this file. My suggestion is that you replace the AP file with a new from Lensfun, or delete the lens file in AP. A raw file is included. There are several Panasonic lenses missing in the native Lens Profile database. A few is just a mechanical update, and by changing the name of the old lens in a "lensfun" file, I have been successful in having the lens automatically loaded in Develop Persona. One lens is missing and I copied another similar lens correction from lensfun and changed the name. It works. So why does it not work to do the same thing with my Lumix G 42.5f1.7 lens? I believe that as long as there is a Lens Profile in the native database, the lensfun profile will not replace the original. And if the original Lens Profile is corrupt, it's only the Affinity team that can fix it.

David, Thank you for your answer. Difficult to believe this is nothing but a software problem. OS: macOS 10.15.7; AP: 1.9.0; Bodies used: Lumix G9, Lumix GX7, Olympus OMD-EM1 It has never worked. I have used the bodies above with this lens and with all versions of AP from 1.5. Lens always mounted directly. I have also copied the latest Lens Profiles for Panasonic lenses from Lensfun. Didn't help. For the record I am using several other lenses from Panasonic and Olympus without this problem.

The lens profile for one of my lenses “Lumix G 42.5mm f/1.7” will not load automatically in Develop Persona. The Exif data is there as is the lens profile, but they don't match. I would appreciate any help to solve my little problem.

In Metadata / Creator Tool the Camera Firmware is written in a raw file. Affinity Photo maintain that information when writing a jpg file. I would rather see "Affinity Photo 1.8.3" written in the jpg file, as Affinity is the Creator Tool

Affinity write the camera serial number of my Olympus OMD EM1 to jpg files. But not from my Panasonic G9. As far as I can see the information is available in the raw files exif information of both cameras. See attached raw + jpg files from G9 and Affinity Photo. 2005LNL_7099.rw2

My Lumix G9 raw files contain information of the lens used, i.e LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15/F1.7. Affinity Photo return a jpg file with the name LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15mm F1.7, slightly different. When I mount the same lens on my Olympus EM1, the lens in the raw files are called 15 f/1.7. Interestingly enough Affinity Photo now returns a jpg file with the name LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15/F1.7, which is what Panasonic called it in the first place. In the Develop Persona, Affinity Photo have a lens database with lens corrections. The name for this lens in the database is Leica DG Summilux 15 f/1.7 Asph. A 4th variation. In this database most of my Lumix lenses are missing. What is the point changing the name set by the manufacturer? To me it is to ask for mistakes. Please streamline, so that the lens corrections in the develop Persona works for all lenses.

Why do Affinity Photo not detect some lenses despite the fact that they appear on the Lens Profile list. One example is "Lumix G 42.5 f/1.7" Thanks

In "File > Export > More" there is a choice to "Embed metadata", presumably data from a raw source file. It would be fantastic to have a further choice to Read the metadata from a XMP sidecar file
