Affinity Designer 1.6.5 Mac App Store

Hello, I'm noticing that the latest version of designer is 1.6.5 but I'm stuck on 1.6.1 through the Mac App store. How can I update to the latest version. I read somewhere that 1.7.0 is coming soon? Where is this stated. Is it also possible to get a product key and just update manually through the website if your purchase was through the app store? - Marco
