I may not be the first to ask this – are there plans to introduce a slug area in Designer. It's a big MUST in this trade?

We are definitely going to need a SLUG on artwork to include data strips and markups etc. before we can take it seriously. The software is good though but will need this type of industry enhancement standard. -
When placing images onto the page they stay embedded even though they claim to be linked in the control panel. The control panels states 'linked' whilst the layer says 'embedded; therefore not able to add to a library. See snapshot below:
