Hi, it's me again ๐ I'm using publisher v2 in german and want to create a data source for a menu card. So far I've done this directly via tables in Publisher, but the layout for the restaurant and take-out card is of course different, so I have two files to maintain. I would like to reduce this to one xlsx data source and I keep finding posts about the Data Merge Manager, which I can't find in the german v2. Under Documents I find at most the item "Add pages from file" ( in german: Seiten aus Datei hinzufรผgen ) and that apparently has a different task. Can anyone tell me where to find the Data Merge Manager in v2 and how to use it for my project? Thanks EDIT: here is my documents pulldown

Resize pointer by keyboard

Sorry for late feedback. It works by holding down ALTGR, left mouse button pressed and moving the pointer left/right. That's good for me, thanks! โบ๏ธ -
Resize pointer by keyboard

Wow, that works at least in v1, I wasn't aware of that! ๐ If this also works in the v2 afterwards, I can easily get used to it. ๐ -
Resize pointer by keyboard

Not for me, I tested it here once in v1 ( Windows ). Maybe it is because of the keyboard matrix, in Germany you need ALTGR to use [ and ]. -
Resize pointer by keyboard

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I honestly hadn't thought of that. ๐ I can't test it until later unfortunately, as I only have v1 here at the company. But I will give feedback and if necessary the information you mentioned. Thank you very much. -
Hi, I have been using v2 for a few weeks now and am basically very satisfied. However, it bothers me that it is no longer possible to change the brush size by pressing ALTGR + [ and ALTGR + ]. Can I set this somewhere that this works again? Now I have to move the mouse to the selection to change the size. This is really annoying when masking. Thanks for hints and tips

So today I'm starting my computer an open photo, the well known and expected message appears. In the folder are 4 files dated at july, 11th 2022. After clicking No the folder is cleared again and no message comes by starting photo again and again. Since tomorrow morning ๐ @Old Bruce Thanks for the tipp, I try this and reboot my computer to see how it effects the issue. EDIT: Tried, but still the same issue. Same files will be restored. ๐

Is AFFINITY dead?
Arne Drews replied to J.T's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Wow... Long time not been online and then I read something like this here. The title had made me a little scared, but when I then followed the discussion, I was reassured and had to smile shaking my head. That is a fact. We should not forget what we have already received in terms of software. For just $55 max, I have photo editing software that plays against the top dog. I would pay that for Adobe almost every month just to be able to use the software. Just be happy and thankful that the development is as far as it is and still affordable. I can understand reporting bugs and not being happy with some things, but you should not forget what we have already received so far and the work behind it. Full Ack! ๐ Serious? There's no algorithm that works 100% accurately. If you want it to be 100%, you still have to find the potential yourself. All tools are just tools, as the name already says, but not for substituting the user. From my side, I can only appeal to Serif not to be impressed by such discussions. A great job has been done! I have purchased all three main products and use them for everything around photo, design and publishing. Great benefit by great price! Personally, I don't miss anything for my purposes that Adobe, for example, would offer me. As I am a developer myself, I would like to advise the team: Take the time you need and thank you for your effort! -
Hi, If I open Affinity Photo the first time after starting my computer, he tolds me that there are 4 files that can be recoverd. It doesn't matter if I say no or yes and save the files restored in that case, the next time I start it for the first time, the same message appears. I have already emptied the directory C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0\autosave, but that does not help either. What else can be the reason for this? I am a bit disturbed by the message.

Hi @Dan C Thanks for welcome me. Nice to see that my english is understood by you ๐ Yes, you're right, all source images should be rasterized and resized to the same target size. I thought about batch too, but to process about five images I decided that it's not the smartes way. If you think I'm wrong, please let me know how I can do that with a batch? Thanks for help! ๐

Hi, I would like to use the export function for files in a macro ( File -> Export ). But Affinity then reports that this function is not supported in macros. This is a pity, because it would simplify a lot of things for me. My use case is, for example, that I rasterize images, resize them and then export them as PNG and close the document directly without saving. This could be done by one click on a macro, if all processes were supported ๐ I could take all this before (Adobe) and was done with one click. Now I can capture the raster and size, but I still have to export it by hand. This makes the closing process an additional single process, which would be unnecessary at this point. It would be great, if this is supported again. regards Arne
