I'm also in favour of the functionality as robinp describes it. I've worked that way for forever. --shift studio.

I agree that linking to image/vector files is needed. Its the only way to work except in very specific circumstances. --shift studio. edit: just learned of the Resource Manager. Maybe thats a good enough solution. I'll experiement
