  1. Thanks for the advice on that, A_B_C. I will try a partition (for a couple of reasons now!). MattP, I tried to launch Affinity under a new Admin user and the same thing happened. Very strange indeed. Thank you both (and MEB) for all your help! I will let you know if I get anywhere with a new partition. Best, Christopher B
  2. Hi MattP, Thanks for trying to figure this out. My iMac is mid-2011, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB, running OSX 10.9.5 (13F1911). I will seek a refund unless any of this data helps you. Again thanks, Christopher B
  3. Here it is. Thanks MEB. Affinity Designer_2018-03-15-123044_Christophers-iMac.crash
  4. Hi MEB, Thanks for passing it to the dev team. Yes it did crash under the new user account and that is where I was able to obtain the crash report. Otherwise, no crash report popped up under my usual account. Thanks again!
  5. Hi A_B_C and MEB and others. I have tried to get a refund from Apple but they do not refund software downloads. But that is not my first choice option, as I would really like to be able to use Affinity. It sounds amazing. Has there been any progress in determining why Affinity having trouble opening on my Mac? See above thread and crash report, etc. Thank you so much for your help!
  6. Aha. Pardon my ignorance, but is MEB one of the developers? Or do I need to contact someone else? Thanks!
  7. Sorry about that. Made a file and attached it here and above. Also delete text from that post. I also sent it via an email to MEB as recommended by ABC. Thanks. Affinity Designer Crash Report.docx
  8. Thank you A_B_C for the note. Attached are the contents from my crash report. Affinity Designer Crash Report.docx
  9. Thanks for that clarification A_B_C. I did as you suggested and found out some more information (in the attached screenshot). I use OS 10.9.5 because of a Logic 9 program that I continue to use. Perhaps I won't be able to use Affinity in this system. Any more advice? Thanks again!
  10. Hi MEB, I'm not sure I know what you mean. Do I need to be logged in to my Affinity account in order to use the application? In other words, how do I run Affinity from an account? I've just opened up the app like I would any other to use it on my Mac. Thanks so much for your help. Chris
  11. Hi ABC - Thanks for your reply. I do see crash reports in Console for Affinity.
  12. Hi ABC, Yes I tried reinstalling from the MAS. Same result. Thanks.
  13. I don't have one and am reading on this forum that Affinity mainly uses CPU. I use other graphics applications on my Mac, including Photoshop. Affinity won't even launch. If you can't resolve the issue, can you refund my purchase? Thanks for your help.

  15. Chris UPDATE: I have now added my computer 'christopherb' to the sharing and permissions list and enable read and write. But it still won't open. And when I press control and click on the app, it only provides a list with the option to OPEN at the top. Nothing prompts me with an option to click Clear. Thanks again for your help.
  16. Hey Chris, Thanks for your advice. However, it is not working. I did notice though that when I Get Info about the app, under Sharing and Permissions, there are only 3 groups listed: system, wheel and everyone. System has Read and Write, Wheel and Everyone have Read Only. However, all of the group names are greyed out and I can't change them. Additionally, when I open up another app that does work on my system I noticed that the group names are different, namely: christopherb, admin and everyone, plus I am able to select those (they are not greyed out). See attached screenshot of the two side by side. I hope this helps you to resolve my issue. Thank you! - Chris
  17. I have an iMac with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 processor running OS X 10.9.5 and just bought Affinity Designer which will not open. Please help! Thanks. UPDATE: I downloaded the Beta version for Mac and that also is not opening up. The icon does that expanding animation Mac icons usually do, but then... nothing. Thanks for your help.
