  1. Hi, I find that blending will not work in Lab. I have to change it to RGB every time. Is there a function I am not aware of?
  2. John, My experience is that AP will not blowout highlight. It may appear brighter. Check your numbers to see if there is any difference after opening the file with different software. If you are happy with the software you are using is OK for you, just continue with them. A raw file converter + Photoshop is a different category. AP is a software that may achieve same result of this combination and very promising.
  3. It is best to make correct exposure. Every body knows that. Sometimes the natural contrast is just high and can only be help by bracketing and do PP later. Many a time, for many reason, bracketing cannot or forgot to be done. Software that recreate part of the lost highlight do make a difference. I am not blaming AP. Photoshop CS5 also has no such function. I only hope it may add on such function later. By the way, I am manipulating raw file in Develop Persona.
  4. Thanks for the input. Basic functions like Shadow/Highlight, Curve etc do not help much. I agree with toyotadesigner that the image is already modified when open here as well as many other software. I happen to regularly use some with no modification. AP is already a very very well performed software. I just hope it will get more to my taste by adding Highlight Reconstruction function as present in some other software.
  5. Hi, I often found when open in AF Beta the highlight is frequently blown out. Is there a way to protect the highlight? Thanks.
  6. Thanks. Rasterised from Lab to RGB has no problem. My mistake not to reset it by clicking the right upper corner icon.
  7. Hi, Is there a quicker way to flatten all layers other than merge layer by layer or merge visible then delete layer by layer. I find too many layers hinder performance and sometimes hang during export. Also work on channel in Lab then rasterize back to RBG will have problem working with modes (e.g. soft light) other than Normal. Thanks
  8. Hi, I often want to invert color of mask so that I may hide the effects of adjustment and later expose part of it by erasing that part of mask. I do not know how to invert color of mask from white ( transparent} to dark (opaque). Please help.
  9. Hi, Please help with copying all Adjustment, Filters etc performed on one modified photo to all photos shot in the same environment. It is painfully killing to do the same foe every photo. Thanks.
  10. Hi, White Balance seems to be Auto when a photo is opened. There is no choice for White Balance As Shot. Anywhere to find it.
  11. Hi, I work with OS X 10.10.2 MacBook Pro with 1500 MB RAM available for PS ( indicated in PS preference, performance ) and scratch disc 380 GB. Raw file from Nikon 800E work nicely in Affinity. Save as TIFF size 273MB. Open in PS but return error of not enough RAM. Open in Preview with no problem. Same TIFF file converted by other Raw File Converter no such problem. ? Cause Jeff
  12. In PS Double Click on the Layer will bring in Layer Style. Everything is there. By the way Blend Mode here does not work with Lab Color. The photo open by your software ( .NEF ) seems to be more saturated and more contrasty. Just personal observation.
  13. Sorry, It is not just Blend Modes. It blends Upper with Lower layers and have Sliders to control effect of each layer on the final result.
