  1. To put it bluntly he called me a liar! He said that He didn't think I checked the AD Help and I had! That's what I took exception to.
  2. I have snapping turned off. I am using the Pen tool in Polygon mode to draw round a photograph. As I click each node sometimes it will try and snap in alignment to a previous node. How do I stop this?
  3. You are becoming really offensive! I did do a search and found info on guides but not on changing colour. The reason is because you can't change the clour! I have wasted a lot of time trying to search for something in AD help that doesn't exist. So I ask a question. I'm afraid of showing my ignorance by asking questions, I've had 83 years doing that and learned a great deal by it. So stop trying to show-off your superior knowledge to those who don't have it. So if you don't want to bother with people like me why do waste your time bothering?
  4. Is there a way to switch off creating daughter layers i.e. every object is unique on its own layer and that there is no connection between an object and a copy of that object?
  5. I did try and search regarding changing the colour of guides but found nothing so I asked the Forum. Often it is much quicker and less time consuming to ask a question on the forum.
  6. Could Serif consider allowing the colour of a guide to be changed and also allowing guides ato be at a chose angle?
  7. That was a useless comment! I already do that for guides at an angle. I asked if you can change the colour of a guide. Firstdfence gave me the correct answer and that is you can't.
  8. Amazingly all the AD problems have gone! I've no idea why. As far as know I didn't do anything! Probably got something to do with Donald Trump!
  9. I went to do what you asked with the problem file I sent and the problem has gone away and I didn't do anything!!! Grouping and ungrouping using the shortcuts is now working fine. Computers?!*
  10. Screen shot attached. I'm using the correct shortcuts! Ungroup.afdesign
  11. Thank you for the video but you didn't do in the video what you described to me to do! I did what you said and was able to group and ungroup by right clicking. But when I try it using cmd+G to group it it goes Donk! And if I group it by right clicking and using Shift+cmd+G, to ungroup it goes Donk again. There's something wrong either with AD or my computer/keyboard.
  12. Sorry but it gets worse! The file is currently ungrouped but when I try to group it so I can test your 3 methods, it won't group! It goes Donk! So I can't test it.
  13. I don't follow what you mean. Can you explain a bit better please?
  14. I've just selected the part that is giving the problem and saved it to a new file which is attached. This new file cannot be grouped without getting 'Donk' sound. I can delete it by I can't use cmd+z to undelete it without getting the Donk sound. However I was able to undelete using Edit>undelte. Afinity group.afdesign
  15. Ok but in the process I moved something accidentally and pressed cmd+Z and just a 'Donk' sound. There are too many things going wrong with my AD at the moment. I'm having problems with Frame text and snapping is s bit hit and miss. I reckon there is something wrong and perhaps I should reset AD but that would losing all my personal settings. How do I reset AD?
  16. LOL That's something else AD v1 does - mis-types! Is it the same with v2?
  17. Ungrouping on AD v1 will not work either by Shitt+cmd+G or Layer>Ungroup. What's going on?
  18. Sorry I should have said that it was Frame text. What you have above in Frame text is what I was expecting but I didn't get the soft return. I'm to restart my computer to see if that helps.
  19. I've just gone back to edit some text previously typed and 'Soft return' - i.e. 'Shift+Enter' is not working. It is giving me a paragraph return. Why is this?
  20. I have another question about cutting nodes. If you draw a rectangle QS then convert it to curves, then cut one of the corner nodes how do you select the node that would be on the cut end of the horizontal edge? It sees to default to the vertical edge. The only way I sect the horizontal node was the move the vertical node sideways thus exposing the horizontal node. However I don't want to move the vertical edge as it must stay in alignment with another object. To get round it I had to move a guide to the position of the node, move the node, then select the other node I wanted to move, then move the first node back to the guide.
