  1. Whenever I open a file, or make a new one, the brush controller is set to "none" and I see no way to set startup preferences for things like this. I've noticed a lot of people on this forum confused as to why their Wacom tablets are not working, because they expect a program to be able to detect it automatically. Having to set the brush to detect pressure every single time we open the program (or even another file) is not user-friendly. At all. "Brush Defaults" seems like the natural default for this feature, and would alleviate a lot of that confusion. As user, my instinct is to trust the brush preferences for this kind of thing, rather than having to set pressure detection separately, though I do get why you've added the feature so pressure can be defined by mouse velocity—it's nice to have the choice. It's not so nice to have to redefine that same choice over and over again. I'm used to trusting that toolbar preferences I set will be saved from session to session, unless I deliberately reset them to defaults. I'm currently using the trial version of Affinity Designer, and this kind of thing one of my considerations when laying down money for a program.
