Mult-layer EXR not importing correctly
matthias.linsbauer replied to Mike_A's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Hello Mike, could you please share your c4d/redshift settings for the direct saving. I played around a little, but couldn't get it to work. As far as I know, it's only used for saving (some) AOVs to separate files, while still rendering others to a multipass image. -
Thanks for the response. Didn't find this thread before. I just tried it with the "direct" output, but couldn't get it to work properly. As far as I know, the Direct Output setting in the AOV manager, is used to write separate files for each AOV. These files, are one combined RBG layer in AP, let's say "reflection" for example, but it's not a multipass file. Well, I'll ask if the user can share the exact settings, maybe I'm missing something. Thanks again! Nonetheless, even if it works this way, it's only a workaround and shouldn't be the standard method, so I still hope this will get fixed.

Hello, Affinity Photo loads the the AOVs of multipass openEXR files as separate (greyscale) layers (reflection.red, reflection.green etc.), instead of combining them to a proper RGB layer, which makes working with exr files very unpractical. The same problem was reported a few years ago, and it seems, it's still not fixed. I'm referring to the following Topic: Software used to generate exr files: Cinema 4d 25 and redshift (latest version). I had the same same problem with another software, and it was fixed within hours: https://sourceforge.net/p/mrviewer/discussion/general/thread/ede498e4d7/ Of course I'm not expecting to get a fix this quickly, but just wanted to say, that it shouldn't be a huge problem so solve. Thanks. Kind regards, Matthias Edit: I attached a wetransfer link to an example file: https://we.tl/t-DbH4oGIt4p

Error when exporting png
matthias.linsbauer replied to matthias.linsbauer's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
I think I know where the problem is. I've got most of my workfiles inside a dropbox folder. When I was testing the exporting on some of my other drives, or at least outside the dropbox folder, it exported without a problem. Also, when using the same dropbox folder, but paused syncing, the export was fine. I can record a video if you really want, but all I do, is clicking File>Export>Export -
Error when exporting png

Here is a link to the file, and a screenshot with the error message: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ic6xfsydq4u6qv1/AABKCnj5PMupYHypbqLd71QNa?dl=0 -
I sometimes get an error when trying to export png files. The error message says "Metadata could not be embedded". It's strange, because this doesn't happen with every export. I couldn't find out what causes this error. Of course there's always the option to not embed the metadata, so it's no big deal, but I thought I let you know.

Adding to selection

Thank you. I would highly appreciate that. -
Adding to selection

That would also be my preferred method, but SHIFT is already used to constraint the selection. -

Thanks again for your reply and the clarification. But why not also use two modifier keys (like CTRL+ALT) to add to the selection? I noticed that SHIFT+ALT constraints and subtracts from the selection, but CTRL+ALT seems to do the same thing as just ALT. edit: Another option would be to use the mouse for both adding and subtracting without any modifiers (like just the right mouse button to subtract), which IMO would be more consistent. -
Adding to selection

Yeah, that works. Thank you very much! Although I've got the same question as in my other topic (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/27778-brush-sizehardness-and-brush-preview-drag/) Is there a way to change this behavior? It feels very inconsistent and in-intuitive having to press a modifier key for removing from the selection and having to press two mouse buttons for adding to it (again, even more so when using a tablet). -
Adding to selection

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately dragging with the right mouse button doesn't seem to do anything. Also tried it with the modifier keys (alt, shift, ctrl) -
Is there a way to add something to my selection? It seems I'm only able to subtract form the current selection (marquee tools/freehand selection tool) with the ALT key, but I can't add to it, which I thought would work with another modifier key like SHIFT or CTRL (or any combination of these).
