Thanks Mark, I meant is it possible within AP to see which profile the image is actually using to correct ?.For instance I use a Nikon D5500 plus a 18-105mm lens and also a 105mm Sigma macro I assume AP takes the details from the Exif data to select the correct camera/lens profile ? but it would be useful to be able to check this as some other software I tried (before I chose AP ☺) often would use a different 105mm lens to mine!. Hi guys Not sure if questions regarding the new released version of AP goes here?. I`m thinking of getting a good graphics tablet which I can hopefully use with Affinity photo (Windows version) and maybe not too difficult for the grandkids (and grandad ;) ) to use too. Any compatibilty issues/recommendations with AP with any of the graphics tablets please?. I`m running Windows 10 64bit. The Intuos range seem pretty good!. thanks Steve

Hi guys Would find really useful a means within Affinity photo (Windows version) to select from a range of visible raw files if poss please!. I know they are available within file explorer but trying a similar method within Photodirector I found it much easier to use and their tool also allows the images to be listed by `date taken`. thanks Steve

Thanks for that Mark. I do have that lens correction option selected and I assume it is correcting an image but just wondered if there is any way of checking?. Is there a way of seeing a before/after image at all please? thanks again Steve

Sorry guys but like the last post I`m still struggling to actually see an image before double clicking on a raw file to open it??. I`ve tried in file explorer using large icons expecting my Nikon NEF files to be visible but still just get the same icon. I know I haven`t been into dslr imaging long and apologise if I`ve missed something glaringly obvious but surely the first thing you would need from any image editing application is to be able to choose which image to edit?. thanks Steve

Following the starter video it mentions to open an image either go through the `Open...` option in `File` or drag an image from an explorer window but can`t seem to be able to do that with raw NEF fiiles just the jpegs. Any sign of media browser of some sort please?. It seems available in the Mac version, wondering why not in the Windows one? thanks Steve

Thanks for this release guys, running faster now. I see `auto lens correction` listed but I can only find a manual correction in Develop. Is Affinity able to read the exif data and auto correct for lens profiles or does it rely on doing a manual correction and saving that as a preset please?. cheers Steve

Hi SrPx Thanks for the reply. I think you may have misunderstood me or I have not explained myself correctly?. I agree entirely that a faster pc is always better for newly written software (or even old software) and not being a software writer myself I`m not really aware of the ins and outs of efficient coding to speculate about why one software runs fast where another runs slow but I am a software user and if one software package is written in a particular way to enable older hardware to run ok then it seems perfectly reasonable to expect similar software packages to also run ok on the same hardware. Clearly the coding in Affinity ( as excellent as it may be ;) ) is written in a different way to say `Acdsee Ultimate 10` or `Photodirector 8` or indeed another I`ve tried `On1 photo 10`. All four of these packages arguably do the same thing eg edit raw files, my question is simply if these three apps can do it then why not all similar type apps?. regards Steve

Thanks bleduc and Patrick for the replies. I would agree with bleduc wholeheartedly about the need for more ram and if the other two apps I mention were also as sluggish as Affinity I would no doubt be round the PC shop now

Hi guys I have been waiting for some time for Affinity photo to come to Windows and first try tonight I was more than a little disapponted :o . My oldish desktop is a dual core Pentium with 4gb ram which apparently is more than the minimum spec reqd for Affinity (an optimistic 2gb ram is quoted!). The program itself is very sluggish to launch and a 28mb NEF file took nearly 30secs to load. I forget which persona takes you into tone mapping but when I did that it slowed down so much that in the end I had to kill the power switch which is not the best thing to do to a Windows machine. I could think its time to get a new machine were it not for the fact that two other apps I`ve also been trying out Acdsee Ultimate 10 and Photodirector 8 simply fly when using the same NEF files on my machine and even Lightroom seems quicker than Affinity on my setup. I know its early days and its in beta so I`ll keep watching and see how it goes for now. regards Steve

Hi guys Only just registered but been following on the forum for some time. I`d really like to go down the Mac road but my other hobby is astronomy in particular taking and processing astronomical spectra and there just isn`t the Mac software available yet so I`m kinda stuck with Windows for now which leads me to the point of my post. `Affinity photo for Windows` yes I know its been asked many times but since getting my Nikon Dslr I`ve been itching to try Affinity so do we have any idea of a release date yet please guys??? regards Steve
