Why can't AD do this? It seems all you can do in AD is text on a path or effects.

Newbie. I doubt very seriously you, like myself, will get any help with this program UNLESS you pay the developer for the manual.

Trying to place a star on top of a square to remove the star shape, so that I can see through the square. I know it's a simple step, or at least should be. In Illustrator, this is a no-brainer.

How do I get OUT of Artboard view? The HELP menu is insufficient. I am new to this software, and am having to learn the hard way.
