Fujifilm X-T2 RAF files not opening

Thanks for the response Chris, This has all been somewhat baffling. I took the RAF, and instead of using the file open dialog I just dropped the file onto the Affinity Photo app icon. AP was not open. The RAF which would not open via the file open dialog yesterday opened today. I then used the file open dialog with a different RAF and it opened. The Serif Labs RAW Engine was selected. As per your request I have still uploaded the RAF file which started all this, and I can only hope that somehow this issue has resolved itself. Once again, thank you.
  2. I have updated to Affinity Photo 1.6.6 and I am unable to open Fujifilm X-T2 RAF files. I am running macOS 10.12.6 Sierra, and I have tried both the Apple (Core Image RAW) and the Serif Labs RAW Engines. Other RAW processing software is able to open these RAF files without issue. This is a popular camera which has been on the market since April 2016. I have only been able to edit/adjust X-T2 JPEG files using Affinity Photo. I would have thought that Affinity Photo/Serif should have been able to deliver RAW support for this particular Fujifilm RAF by now. Do you have a solution, or when will Serif be able to provide X-T2 RAF support?

    Affinity Photo 1.5 has launched!

I was having problems getting 1.5 update/upgrade until I checked my Appstore purchases and re-downloaded my original purchase. Only then did it jump straight to the upgrade. Now I have it installed and up and running. Thank you

    Affinity Photo 1.5 has launched!

I am yet another 1.4.3 user with no update path for Affinity Photo. The AppStore does not show an update available. I believe this might be due to my original purchase being direct from Serif and not via the Appstore. Please provide information on how to access and download this important update/upgrade.
  5. Phew! I am happy to report that after updating to OSX 10.11.6 I am able to open the X-E2(v4.01) RAF files. :) Thank you Jon P and Chris_K for all the clues to the fix. For a little while there I was quite concerned, now I am relieved I can continue climbing the AP learning curve.
  6. OK! I am using the Apple (Core Image RAW). However, I have yet to update my OSX from 10.10.5 to 10.11.5. It looks like the time has come for that long delayed update. I have a few things I need to complete then I will update OSX and report the result back to you.
  7. Thanks for the response. Try this RAF shot a few days ago. It will not load on my copy of AP 1.4.2, I just get the black window freeze up: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1295663/Demo/RAF%20Exercise/_DSF3385.raf
  8. I am continuing to have issues opening RAW files, specifically Nikon D300S NEF, and Fujifilm X-E2 (firm ware 4.01) RAF. I have tried the suggested move to the Apple RAW engine via the View menu, but all attempts to open RAW files still result in a black develop window and a freeze which ultimately leads to a force quit. My normal workflow is with Lightroom CC/Photoshop CC, so as yet I cannot fully endorse a move from the Adobe subscription workflow to a Affinity Photo workflow until this major issue with RAW files is resolved by Serif.

    Fuji X-E2 firmware v4

Here is one more X-E2v4.0 user with RAF issues with Affinity Photo, with AP either freezing or crashing. I tried the switch to the Apple RAW engine and even that is not a good fix. The RAF opens but only presents itself as a black image in the AP develop window. This is not an issue with the Apple engine as the RAF will open in Preview. My current workaround is to use Lightroom to convert the RAF to a DNG which will open in AP. Needless to say this is an unacceptable kludge making Affinity Photo a bit of a white elephant for Fujifilm X-Series shooters. I can only hope that a fix is in the works.
