I tried to setup a document for printing on a small envelope, no luck. What is the correct way to set up to print on an envelope?

Are you saying that after the update you had a visible Macro Studio panel but not a Library one? If so, is it possible the Library panel somehow was set not to be visible in View > Studio menu choices? Do you have any keyboard shortcuts set that could affect this?
R C-R, I think you hit on the answer. Understand I am still learning AP. It appears that when I upgraded my studio panels got turned off. When I turned on the Macro panel I assumed it also turned on my Library panel. Now I see they are separate panels. I can turn on/off my Library panel to show/hide the macros I created. I do not have any keyboard shorts that I know of that would turn off the Library panel.

I use the MAS version 1.5.1, no betas.
In fact all macros were gone, even AP's default macros. I messed around with it a bit, created a new macro, click "add to library," in that dialog box "My Library" (that's my macro library created some time ago by me) appeared, I selected it, and then all of my older macros appeared, as well as AP's default macros. I have to believe this is a bug. There's no reason why all macros should get hidden like that when I upgrade to the current MAS version.

I created a few macros in AP 1.5.1 and placed them in a "My Macros" library. After updating to 1.5.2 those macros appear to be gone. Where are they? Does AP store them in the file or somewhere else?

In the Context toolbar when the Move tool is selected there is a button that looks like an eye. Click it if you want to hide the marquee during drags. Unfortunately, it is not "sticky" in the sense that it defaults to showing the marquee every time you open a document.
That's very helpful. Not a big deal to click it once during a session. I have much to learn!
-
MEB, thanks, that does work. I guess I need to use the Move Tool more often to get use to how it works. I think it's the rectangular marquee that appears as I'm trying to manipulate the line that confuses me. It's much clearer to see what is happening to a line when you use the Node Tool and (carefully) grab and manipulate an end point.

Please consider adding a mirror object tool. This thread explains the tool I would like. Please look at the Vectorworks Mirror Tool video link in the thread.

Is there a way to lock a curve as a line that could still be manipulated as a line? I use a lot of straight lines in my drawings. It's too easy the accidentally alter a two point straight line "curve" to not be straight anymore. I would like to define these "curves" as straight lines so that can't happen. I need to be able to move them, rotate them, and change their lengths, so locking is not a solution.
Alternatively, I would suggest the addition of a line tool to the AD tool set.

Lets be honest with each other here and stop with all this "fake news". There is currently no viable workaround for arrowheads in Designer. The so called "workarounds" mentioned are not in anyway useful or acceptable. Moreover, anyone who thinks these so called workarounds are useful has either no use for arrowheads, does not use arrowheads or is being dishonest to try and prioritize their own feature requests. It's about time Serif addressed this long standing feature request.
I agree. The "workarounds" are huge time consumers.

There they are! Thanks MEB. I think this is a change from previous versions. Looks like more brushes are under the Inpainting Brush Tool Group.
-
I have done that, but when I click "reset" those two brushes are not there. I really think this was changes in the current version. It appears those two brushes were removed from the default tools layout and they need to be added individually through customize.
-
I had to add the Healing Brush and Blemish Removal Tools individually to my tools. I see in tutorials that these two brushes resided together under one icon with a pop-out. My setup is not like that, I don't know why. Is this a change in 1.5.1? Is there a way to drag two tool icons together to create a pop-out setup of them? Is there a default tool setup I am missing. Just trying to understand why I don't see the same tool setup.
This is the tools from a video online:
This is my tools once I added both brushes:

Can you see how powerful a tool that is? I use it all the time in Vectorworks.
-
Nope... Something like the way it works with Vectorworks:
-
At one point in my design process I switched the chips blending mode group to passthrough so I could see the color of the artboard, which I made bronze, through the white fill of the chips. That's what seems to be causing the problem.

I attached a file of just the offending element. Thanks for looking. The first file is the eps. The second is the AD file.
-
I look forward to this being simpler.

I'm exporting vector art from AD as EPS and some of the elements get rasterized. Why might that be happening? What do I do to stop it?
-
This is something I can do with my CAD program. It is a very powerful tool. There are obvious workarounds. I will add this a a wish list request.

I found a better workaround. Double click the embedded eps, export it as a separate file, then import it as a separate embedded image. Works fine, but not the ultimate solution, which would be a "release" function.
-
I see the pros and cons, but it's now obvious to me the need to be able to "release" the embedded file. When embedded it acts like a symbol. If it's duplicated and modified, then all instances change. That's great if you want it to be like a symbol, but not good if you want it to be a separate element. I tried the copy/paste workaround, but the results were giant versions of the objects, and dealing with that is too hard because scaling it down to fit causes too many problems. Time I don't have!

I placed an eps file in my AD file. It comes in as an embedded object. I do see the value of this, but I am curious how would I convert the eps to individual objects in my AD file?
Print on an envelope

There was no error message. I assumed I could make the page size in AD the same as the envelope, but when I did so and printed, my Brother laser printer printed it all the way over to the right. The Brother's single sheet (envelope) feed is centered, so that did not work. I found a workaround by making the page size in AD 8.5" wide x 6.375" long, then I centered the artwork on the 8.5" width. It works, but it seems like a strange solution. I'm concerned that it may be hard to work and print non-standard paper sizes in AD. Something I will need to review.
