  1. So it seemed like the best bet for me was to purchase Affinity Designer direct instead of trying to get App Store working. This is clearly an Apple App Store problem as it is affecting more than just Affinity Apps for me. I accept that this is not really Affinity's problem and given I have been able to use the app without issue for years, including when it did update fine(!) is a testament to how much I appreciate and use the software. I have also discovered that the half price that Designer is at present is pretty much the price I paid for it in 2016 - so I can't really complain too much! Luckily I don't have many other apps that I require app store for - so I have parked that problem for the future. Right now, I have Affinity Designer back and working - for which I am grateful.
  2. I'm having the exact same problem with Affinity Designer and have spent hours reading through old forum posts and restarting and deleting various things trying to get it to work. Before I understood there was a difference between the Apple App Store download and direct from Affinity download, I downloaded the update straight from Affinity so now it's asking for a Product Key which I don't have because I bought it through the App Store! It's incredibly frustrating that an app that I've been happily using since 2016 is no longer working because of a problem with a party between me and Affinity. Back then I don't think it was even an option to buy direct from Affinity? At this rate it will be easier to repurchase directly from Serif but I have already paid for it once! And if I repurchase it will all my presets be wiped?
  3. HI Hokusai, Thanks for the reply and the heads up about the Illustrator "effects" - that makes sense. I don't think I have used that many effects, if any, so hopefully I'll be OK in that department. --- If bringing layers across from Illustrator is not an option it looks like my best bet is to make sure all my EPS files only contain the one page/project. I think I've only got this problem because I haven't got a layout programme like InDesign and I have used Illustrator for this purpose. I've never used artboards before but I'm hoping to get to grips with those in Affinity Designer. I welcome any suggestions if anyone has any alternatives to saving each page individually - I have rather a lot of work in the EPS format so if I need to do anything to my existing files in Illustrator I'd need to do that before I move over completely to Affinity.
  4. Hi, I have been using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS2 for several years without issue but I am looking to change over to Affinity Designer as I have several new devices that are no longer compatible with CS2. I have been really impressed by Affinity Designer and it appears it can do all the things I'm looking for, so I'm planning on buying it :) However, all my previous files I have made with Illustrator I have saved as EPS files and when I open these in Affinity Designer it looks like only the layer that was visible at time of saving is displayed. It appears the same if I save the file as an AI file. I re-saved the file in Illustrator with all the layers displayed but when I opened this file in Affinity Designer it only showed a single layer and although it looks like all the content is present under this layer it's not the same layer organisation as when I open it in Illustrator. Is anyone able to suggest what I can do to make my existing EPS files more manageable in Affinity Designer? Layers in Illustrator: Layers in Affinity:
