Otisbeans reacted to TonyO in Auto Connect to Previous Line with Pencil Tool
When you draw a line with the pencil tool, and let go of the mouse, the line completes. If you proceed to try to continue the line by clicking on the end node and continuing to draw, each line will be a separate object.

It would be best, if after drawing a complete line, clicking on the end node of either side would allow you to continue drawing on the same object.

Also, when you draw a complete shape, it should automatically close when the two ends touch. Currently they are disjoined and will snap together when the last node is hovered over the first, but to save time, this should just happen while drawing the original line.

Otisbeans got a reaction from Peregrin in Pencil Tool
I would like to be able to use the pencil tool with auto fill on but not have it "auto filling"as I draw, it is very distracting and makes it really hard to see exactly where I am drawing.  Is there any way to make the completed shape autofill once I lift my pencil to start a new shape a-la Illustrator?  I like to draw using shapes (even for line work), but the autofill feature "filling" as I draw is kind of a drag.  It kind of kills the flow.  Any hope to add this type of feature in the future?

Otisbeans reacted to GRScott in [ADe] Is there any line smoothing? (implemented)
I thought I would come back to this subject again because more and more I have seen the need for smoothing. I just can't understand why Affinity Designer does not have that ability. Other programs use it with great success. It is very useful when drawing freehand. It takes time to have to alway go back and correct a line. Please reconsider this. I think there are a lot of other people that would like to have the smoothing ability.
