  1. I'm trying to combine two pictures. I don't want to merge them, I want each to occupy their own space. Can someone tell me a simple way of doing that? Thanks.
  2. I think you are right R C-R. That is the main thing I'd hadn't done is designate the System Photo Library. Once I did that, it worked perfectly. Well, that and move the file back from the external drive back to the main internal drive. I hope the programmers get this fixed up soon.
  3. Alrighty guys - here is the solution... If anyone else is struggling with this, this will fix ya right up. It is not enough to move the Photos Library.photoslibrary back to the original location. Once you put it there, do this. Double click on it. That will open the Apple Photos app. Then open up the preference for that program. Click on Use as System Photo Library. For good measure, I restarted the computer at this point. Not sure I would have had to. Now, clear the preferences in Affinity Photo per the above. Press and hold ⌃(ctrl) while launching it, then select Clear from the dialog that will open, as Barninga suggested above. I again restarted to be sure I was working with a clean slate. Then I opened Affinity Photo, the media browser under the View Menu, and it worked exactly as expected. And this ends my ability to post. So would be grateful if a moderator would raise my limit please. Thanks to all who worked to help me.
  4. That doesn't work. Since I just bought it today, I didn't have any modifications to it, so reset it completely, now 4 times as you suggested. I even tried deleting the old file off of the external drive. After resetting the program, it comes back with the Picture folder from the proper drive. Above that photo is the Apple Photos logo. When I click the drop down arrow it just spins. Nothing shows up. I've waited like 10 minutes and nothing and I have a 6 core Mac Pro with 64 gigs of RAM. Prior to eliminate the old file off the external drive, Affinity Photo continued to look there for the files even after resetting it. So something is not working right at all. This is frustrating. Just got it and can't use it. Somehow, resetting it is not really working I don't think. What can I do to get the browser to show up my Apple Photo pics? Do I need to uninstall the program and reinstall? It's been probably 20 minutes and the spinner is still spinning after I clicked on the Apple Photo icon from within the browser off Affinity. It's like it is not finding anything. Also to any Mod - I appear to be running out of posts. Please increase them so I can work with you guys to resolve this problem.
  5. Thanks - and to hopefully simplify this for myself while the devs get this tidied up... I went ahead and drug it back to it's original location inside of pictures. It is now in Users/pictures location. I double click it and it opens fine in Apple Photos. But when selecting the media browser inside of Affinity Photo, it is still looking for the photos in my external drive. How do I get it to look for it in it's original location?
  6. Thank you. I'm excited to be here and get this figured out. This is not located in my main drive to give the main drive more space. It is located in a drive connected by Thunderbolt. This file is located like this: My Mac Pro/Thunderbay/iPhoto Library/Photos Library.photoslibrary. If I put it like this - My Mac Pro/Thunderbay/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary - would that work?
  7. Hi, If i open Affinity Photo, go to the View menu and choose Media Browser, it sees the Apple Photos area but no photos show up. I can see the names of the different collections, but clicking on one just shows greyed out boxes where the photos should be. If I double click on to open it, it says it doesn't have permission to open them. How do I give Affinity Photos permission to open these? Also, what would be a better program to organize my photos to work more effectively with Affinity Photo? I would like something seamless where I don't have to duplicate all my photos to be able to organize them and work with them in Affinity Photo. Thanks
