  1. Hello everyone....How do I install paper specific icc profiles in v2.6?
  2. Some great comments, however, I photograph for the best and highest quality image possible, which is why I use a 100+mp 16bit camera, color paper, profiles and bit ratio, is all important, it's what my clients demand and not looking to debate the reasoning. Having said that that, I just want to merely bump down the file size slightly, while keeping all intact, since my printer can not accept anything over 500mb on the server, and based on the feedback it doesn't appear such a feature exists, as of yet. Find it interesting, White Wall allows for up to 2gig files.
  3. Appreciate that however, will that not affect the physical dimensions? I need to leave physical dimensions intact, while keeping the DPI @ 300dpi and yes these are 8bit although I do use 16bit sometimes. Again, that was a feature I used often in PS could drop the file size by 10% without affecting the file config. Not sure what it did to the file but it wasn't noticeable and the print quality wasn't affected.
  4. So in PS, one can reduce an image via percentage as an option, lets say 10% that will take off a couple hundred megabytes with affecting the overall configuration of the image, is there such an option in Affinity, without affecting the overall size - pixels et?. Example I have an image I want as a 5:4 ratio in tiff, croped perfectly, needs to be a tiff no layers, however the size comes in at almost 800mb and I cannot exceed 500mb. Simple in PS, but no desire to go down that rabbit hole again, however I have about 50 images that I need to downsize.
  5. Processed in RAW sent image as tiff to both apps.
  6. What I wanted to see whether there was any difference in size, without touching any adjustments coming straight from RAW, almost a 1 gig difference blew me away. Anyway I'll try your way as well.
  7. When I compare the very large files side by side, seems the PS file has smoother details, better tonality. However haven't really compared many images.
  8. Curious, why would there be such a size difference after exporting from Photoshop, compared to Affinity? Seems that PS is always 40-90% larger. I processed two files 16bit w/ no extra layers, a tiff - native size. PS was 1.9gb and Affinity 1.08gb Thats almost a gig in difference. I've tried other configurations, same thing, PS is always much way larger with no compression. Feels like I'm loosing something in Affinity or PS is adding something within the algorithm. After 20+ years of using PS, I'm not a fan, but I am curious.
  9. OK, think I. figure out the issues, it was a DXO -Affinity!
  10. What is the easiest way to export an image without layers? In PS it was pretty simple, export without layers. On issue I'm also having which is probably somewhat related, when exporting to a certain size typically my images are close 200mb , considering my RAWs are 210mb. Problem is many labs will not take images over 100mb, which I think is insane.
  11. Very nice, especially since you were working with a screenshot. I'll give those options a a shot on my end. Thanks!
  12. Trying to remove this reflection of myself in the doorway, in the lower left. Coming from PS I tried similar tools with terrible results, suggestions? I know, don't stand in the doorway.😐
  13. Yea thats an interesting idea, I use DXO for my RAW, certainly I can use my M1 for the RAW then take it over to my BenQ, until I get a wider gamut for my main monitor.
  14. Thanks for the research, here are my settings! Interesting My MaBook M1 MAX which is my main computer, supports P3-D65, which I can use when a wider gamut is required-accepted, for print.
  15. I was researching just that! I have the BenQ PD3200U. It has a setting for P3 within the monitor settings just not sure it support it, don't think it does. Overall its. great monitor, just would like to have a wider gamut.
  16. Thanks for the great info, I'd like to use P3 or Adobe by my BenQ is 100% sRGB which is great 80% of the time.
  17. Yea I agree, I have such an issues trying to find a decent printer that even accepts tiff files, let alone 16 bit. Mostly they want jpegs in sRGB, however my camera shoots in 16bit at 200+mb RAW and I'm suppose to send a 2mb jpeg. Have found a couple of great labs, but one pays for it, however I digress...
  18. Greatly appreciate the detailed explanation. My BenQ monitor is 100% sRGB I do export at times in AdobeRGB and the prints come out great, just can't see the gamut while processing. Working towards a wide gamut monitor. Side note have been curious regarding the "DXO Wide gamut. " Thanks again!
  19. Still trying to work through a couple things that differ in UI slightly from PS. My workflow goes from exporting in DXO either as an Adobe RGB or SRGB typically TIFF, to Affinity. Question based on the screenshots, typically I have the RGB Color profile set to my monitors profile and the 32 bit set to either Adobe RGB or SRGB and than export as such. Something doesn't seem right. Should the RGB Color and 32 bit color both be either Adobe or SRGB while exporting the same?
  20. Not sure whether this is an Affinity question, however I have. a high-end BENQ monitor, that has several profiles, none of which are Adobe or ProPhoto RGB, but considered 4k sRGB by default. Question, what if I process for print in ProPhoto RGB or Adobe RGB if I start out in sRGB and my monitor is profiled for sRGB?
  21. Excellent results, appreciate the detailed info you provided. I'll give it a try, thanks again!
