Eigentlich sind mir Argumente dafür oder dagegen, gleiche Schriftgrösse oder nicht, usw. völlig egal. Fakt ist, ich würde Affinity sehr gerne als Alternative zur überteuerten Photoshop mit Abozwang nutzen. Doch leider ich kann bei Affinity die Menü-Texte, Menüelemente oder Hilfstexte bestenfalls nur mit einer Lupe in der dritten Hand lesen. Solange das so ist, ist es mir unmöglich Affinity zu nutzen. Ich bin schliesslich kein Masochist. Damit beende ich für meinen Teil die Diskussion hier. Zumindest so lange, wie Affinity die Nutzer nicht wie Kunden behandelt. --- I don't really care about arguments in favour or against, same font size or not, etc. The fact is, I would very much like to use Affinity as an alternative to the overpriced Photoshop with its compulsory subscription. Das Bild scheint die Grösse ähnlich eines 12" Bildschirmes zu haben. In dieser Grösse scheint der Unterschied nicht wirklich ein Problem zu sein. Um so grösser der Bildschirm, um so grösser die Auflösung in Pixel. Und damit werden die Schriften immer kleiner. Um so grösser die Auflösung wird, um so grösser werden die Unterschiede auch erst markant bemerkbar. Das Bild ist die Originalgrösse eines 26" Bildschirms mit einer Auflösung von 2560 x 1440 px. Die Skalierung habe ich auf 225 % eingestellt. Damit arbeite ich. Zu sehen sind die Menüs bzw. Hilfstexte von Affinity, Photoshop, Notepad++, Word und ein Browser. Im Gesamtbild ist gut zu sehen, dass Affinity mit Abstand am schlechtesten zu lesen ist und auch die kleinste Schrift hat. --- The image appears to be similar in size to a 12" screen. Wobei auch beim überteuerten Photoshop die Schriften viel zu klein sind, aber doch um Längen besser als Affinity. Meine Motivation, mich so stark für eine Verbesserung von Affinity einzusetzen ist, weil ich Affinity gerne als Alternative für Photoshop nutzen möchte. Du denkst, wenn Du Dir Gedanken über Deine Augen machst, wird das Problem behoben??? Ich behaupte mal, Du bist noch unter 30. Eine Brille schärft den Fokus auf den Text, vergrössert aber den Text nicht. Das kann nur die Lupe. Und die ist auch bei Affinity, nicht als Nutzerbedingung aufgeführt. Glasses sharpen the focus on the text, but do not enlarge the text. Only the magnifying glass can do that. And this is also not listed as a user requirement in Affinity. But it is obviously expected.

Darauf habe ich über mehrere Updates auch gehofft, dass mit der Zeit die Menüs nicht mehr gelesen werden müssen. Das hat sich aus zwei Gründen als einen Irrtum herausgestellt. 1. Benutze ich Affinity nicht täglich. 2. Verstecken sich die meisten der Features und Einstellungen, als recht langen Text (ohne Icons) unter andern Menüs. Ich muss also immer lesen, damit ich die richtige Einstellung oder das richtige Features auswählen kann. --- I had hoped that over the course of several updates, the menus would no longer need to be read. Ja, technische. Was lobenswert ist. Aber keine Usability Problem. Null, nichts, keine. Über viele Updates hinweg. Mit jedem Update wurde ich nicht nur enttäuscht, sondern die Usability-Probleme wurden immer grösser und die Schrift, in der Wahrnehmung zumindest, immer kleiner. --- Yes, technical. Which is commendable. But no usability problem. Zero, nothing, none on. Over many updates. With every update I was not only disappointed, but the usability problems got bigger and bigger and the font, at least in my perception, smaller and smaller.

Verstehst Du, von wessen Problemen wir hier sprechen? Ich meine, der normale Nutzer hat keine Professur in IT oder über versteckte Kenntnisse vom Betriebssystem. Und schon gar nicht Kenntnisse über die kuriosen Denkweisen der Affinity-Entwickler. Ich mache ein Update von 2.1 auf 2.2, keine neue Installation. Das Update rufe ich auch noch direkt ab der Applikation von Affinity auf. Dieses Update – als Update benannt notabene – erneuert aber nicht meine alte Version 2.1 auf 2.2, sondern installiert sich, ohne nachzufragen, ohne mein Wissen, irgendwo auf meinem System in einem Unterorden, den ich nicht kenne, vollständig neu!!! Die Folgen sind vielfältig und zieht einen Rattenschwanz mit sich. · Ich starte also nach dem Update Affinity neu, über das bestehende Icon auf dem Desktop. Eine Fehlermeldung oder überhaupt eine Meldung gibt es ja nicht. · Affinity startet folgerichtig mit der alten Version. Den die bestehenden Icons auf dem Desktop wurden nicht auf den neuen Installationsordner angepasst und neue Icon wurden nicht erstellt. · Hoppla was ist da los? Update hat nicht funktioniert, also nochmals. Und wieder hat es nicht funktioniert! · Ab jetzt benötigen wird die IT-Kenntnisse von der Qualität eines Professors. · Auf die Idee im Microsoft Store oder im Affinity Store nach einem anderen, alternativen Installations-Tool zu suchen, kommt man erstmal nicht. Dabei habe ich keine Ahnung, mit welchem Installations-Tool denn installiert wurde. Ich weiss noch nicht mal, dass es zwei gibt, welche das sind und welche dann die richtige ist. · Nach langer suche (Stunden) nach dem Problem kommst Du auf den Hinweis die Update-Datei bei Affinity zu downloaden. Das es wieder die falsche Datei ist, ist Dir nicht bewusst. Die alternative EXE-Datei wird auf dieser Seite nicht angeboten. · Die Recherche nach einer Lösung beginnt erneut. · Dann befolgst Du etwas verwundert den Hinweis, die alten Versionen vorgängig zu löschen. Nach der Neuinstallation (keine Ahnung was das mit Update zu tun hat) laufen die Icons auf dem Desktop ins Leere. Jetzt ist Affinity vermeintlich überhaupt nicht mehr vorhanden. Dass sich aber Affinity unter einem neuen mir unbekannten Ordner installiert hat, erfahre ich nicht. --- die Liste wird zu lang. Was ich sagen will, Affinity mag vielleicht eine gute Alternative sein. Vielleicht darum, weil ich Affinity nicht wirklich testen kann, weil die Schriftgrösse der Menüs nicht lesbar ist. Sicher ist, was die Usability anbelangt, ist Affinity schlicht und einfach untauglich. Punkt. --- Do you understand whose problems we are talking about here? I mean, the normal user has no professorship in IT or any hidden knowledge of the operating system. And certainly no knowledge of the strange ways of thinking of the Affinity developers. I update from 2.1 to 2.2, not a new installation. I also call up the update directly from the Affinity application. This update - named as an update, nota bene - does not update my old version 2.1 to 2.2, but installs itself completely new somewhere on my system in a subfolder that I do not know, without asking, without my knowledge!!!! The consequences are manifold and entail a rat's tail. .... What I'm saying is that Affinity could be a good alternative. But I can't really test Affinity because the font size of the menus is unreadable. What is certain is that Affinity is simply unsuitable in terms of user-friendliness. Full stop.

Also es ist so. Meine Bildschirmgrösse ist auf Standard eingestellt. Damit funktioniere alle, ich wieder hohle, alle meine Apps korrekt und gut lesbar auf meinem System. Nur bei Affinity sind die Menüs nicht lesbar. Und jetzt kommt Affinity her und meint, alle anderen sind falsch und hätten die UI nicht korrekt umgesetzt und wir hätten doch gefälligst unser System nach Affinity auszurichten? Sorry, diese Arroganz übersteigt meine Schmerzgrenze. Ich bin raus. ---- So it's like this. My screen size is set to standard. Das ist jetzt nicht wirklich Dein ernst, @Andreas CH. Allein nur wegen Affinity? Mit allen anderen Tools habe ich keine Probleme. Ja @Fritz_H, die teils haarsträubenden Usability-Problemen wären auch noch ganz einfach zu lösen, wenn der Wille denn da wäre. Okay, @Stokerg. Die Aussage von Fritz_H wird also bestätigt. Affinity ist nicht gewillt, einfache Usability-Problem zu beheben. Nicht lesbare Schriftgrössen, z. B., ist definitiv ein Fehler von Affinity und mitnichten ein Windows Fehler. Damit habt ihr gerade einen Kunden verloren. Ich werde also Affinity auch künftig nicht benutzen können und muss mich wieder nach einer Alternative umsehen. Das finde ich sehr schade. Affinity wäre eine akzeptable Alternative zur überteuerten Photoshop mit Abo-Zwang gewesen. Aber diese Arroganz, wie Affinity mit seinen Kunden umgeht, akzeptiere ich nicht. Mal abgesehen davon, dass es sich mit dieser Schriftgrösse nicht arbeiten lässt. Sich bei der Nutzung von Affinity-Tools gesundheitliche Schäden am Auge oder Kopfschmerzen bei enormer Anstrengung, riskieren muss. Affinity is not willing to fix simple usability problems. Unreadable font sizes, for example, is definitely an Affinity bug and by no means a Windows bug. You have just lost a customer. So I won't be able to use Affinity in the future and will have to look for an alternative again. I think that's a great pity. Die Installationsroutine, egal ob es sich um eine Vollversion oder ein Update handelt, muss immer eine Auswahlmöglichkeit für den Installationsordner bieten. Einfach immer! Alles andere ist schlechter Stil und unhöflich. Aber die Tatsache, dass eine Installation, und noch schlimmer, ein Update nicht ungefragt im bestehenden Ordner, sondern irgendwo in einem unbekannten Ordner auf dem System installiert wird, ist arrogant, vor allem, wenn es nicht einmal als Fehler angesehen wird. Sorry für die harschen Worte. Aber es freundlich auszudrücken, wäre nicht angemessen.

Kann irgend jemand von Euch die Beschriftung der Button lesen? Siehe Bild. Ich benötige trotz aufgesetzter Brille zusätzlich noch eine Lupe. Dass ja viel Platz für die Arbeitsfläche gewünscht wird, kann ich ja verstehen. Aber wenn ich die Menu-Führung weder erkennen noch lesen kann, sind die Affinity-Apps für mich völlig nutzlos. Es ist mir ein Rätsel, warum die Menüs nicht anpassbar sind. Nutzer unfreundlicher geht kaum noch! ---------- Can any of you read the labelling of the buttons? See picture. I find it incredibly arrogant and cheeky of Affinity when an update reinstalls itself somewhere on the system. And at the same time b) it is not mentioned in which folder the update is installed by Affinity. c) after the installation, the old version of the application will still opened. d) or that no new icon is created on the desktop. d) and generally that the user cannot determine the installation folder. The update is now installed somewhere, but cannot find the installation folder. Probably in the most nonsensical place, somewhere deeply nested, the C drive: But where? Affinity already makes the same mistake with version 2.0. This time I'm not going to wait too long for Affinity to provide a reasonable installation routine so that I can install the Affinity updates in a self-determined, usable folder.
