Thanks @NotMyFault ! For sure, that workaround will be helpful until the feature is added. I appreciate you taking the extra effort to demonstrate via the video ! One advantage to a sliding node is that it can also be used to shorten a curve by sliding an end node along its path. A powerful application / feature that I would use regularly.

It would be beneficial / useful if a node could be moved (slide) along the path of a curve. This feature is available on Adobe Illustrator and I have used it often. I really miss this feature in Affinity Design (iPad). Thanks for your consideration of adding this feature.

How can I constrain node to move only along the path of a curve ?

Walt, zooming in does work better , though it makes it hard to see how the changes affect the composition as a whole . Anyway, your suggestion got me unstuck so I could move on. Much appreciation for your help ! I’m thinking the unwanted snap is a bug.

For some reason, no matter what I do, that end node has a “gravity” or extra preference / smaller tolerance. And it doesn’t seem to matter whether snaps are on or off. I’m still hoping this is something simple that I have missed. But it’s seriously affecting my workflow (and my patience, lol !)

Yes. I’m a bit confounded. Thanks for your continued interest in helping me with this ! I attached a screenshot of my upper bar.

I realized I have been working with auto close disabled. Snap is also disabled. But when I move the node near the end node, it snaps closed anyway, and the autoclose button toggles back to “closed” state. So frustrating !

Thanks, Lee ! I’ll give it a try.

I have an open curve shape. The path tries to snap and autoclose the curve when I move the end node near the start point (red node). How can I prevent / toggle this autoclose or maybe the snapping ?
