  1. OK. You guys are right. (I'm on V2). Don't know how I got so confused. I keep getting v's in my text from trying to switch from editing to text to moving something around. Escape does get me out of edit mode, and that's where I was losing it. I think I saw the frame still selected after an escape and thought I couldn't press v yet. I might be a proverbial old dog here... 😞
  2. aha! I have to hit escape twice. That unselects the current tool and then I can press a letter. That's good enough for me! Thanks!
  3. I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I mostly alternate between Text and Move tools. But if I'm text, and I press v to switch to Move, I get a v somewhere in my text. So tired of this. Keep trying to escape to have no tool selected but that doesn['t work either. How do you use any of the tool shortcuts if you're in a text block??
  4. Yes! That's it. One line of text in the help file: "Stroke and fill color selectors are available below the tools, along with an arrow that swaps their colors." No picture. No info about using. Guess I'll figure it out, but it did confuse me because I could see changes but couldn't figure out what happened. I even searched for stroke and never found it. But now I know. Thank you.
  5. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what the bottom tool in my tool panel is. It seems to be a masking tool but I can't find it in the manual and can't seem to use it properly. (Affinity Publisher 2) ??
