I'm glad it's not just me that has encountered a problem with MS Word documents containing footnotes - even when using Edit > Paste Without Format.
Some bizare thinks go wrong which result in the text and even the rule at the start being completely the wrong size. It doesn't seem to be possible to sort this using the options in either the Notes panel or the Text Styles panel.
The only solution I've found is to resave the original MS Word Document WITHOUT footnotes and then insert them in AP one at a time. This is tedious in a complex document.
Another related problem involves the positioning of footnotes. Despite setting the position of the footnotes to Below Column (or Frame), when I introduce a picture frame on the same page as a number of footnotes, the footnotes jump up from the bottom. I've allowed 'split notes' but it doesn't seem to work. If I move the picture frame to another page, the footnotes move down to the bottom as required.
I attach a small part of a file that shows the problem.
I'd appreciate any pointers to help solve this issue.
