  1. Thank you everyone. I am resigned to doing it again. i have an erlier version with some of the earlier ideas that i can go from. Thanks Carol
  2. Is there no way to return it to presumably a vector layer? Don't remember rasterising it but it is possible as I am still learning.
  3. Windows 10. most recent version of Affinity. Please see the screen shot below
  4. Unfortunately that doesn't work. I will try and paste a picture of the layers panel. screenshot.docx
  5. In the layers panel the whole page is listed as an artboard. It won't open. I am on the latest version of Affinity - Designer and Publisher. i am using a PC version.
  6. Please advise how i open up an artboard to show its components. The artboard has been copied into my document but i need to make changes. Real novice here but doing my best. i produce a newsletter for a voluntary group so not a professional user. Never used an artboard before. Not sure I will again as it is looking as if I might need to start again.
  7. Thank you so much! Why couldn't I find this? I am not quite a beginner having used Page Plus but I do find this software baffling at times!!!
  8. I have somehow lost all my panels such as layers in Designer so now I have just a basic board to work from using the toolbars on the left and the context toolbar and the file pull downs. I am especially missing not have having a layers panel. Now, when i open a new file it is just the same. i must have hit a key that has hidden them all but in spite of checking help etc there seems no way to unhide using the top line of pull down options, the context bar or the side toolbars. can you experts out there help please?
  9. Complete beginner trying to get to grips with Affinity after using Page Plus for years. I produce a newletter for a voluntary group which I have done for years quite successfully using Page Plus but given it is no longer supported and eventually will be obsolete i decided to 'upgrade' to Affinity. There are a number of things I am struggling with but I will focus on the basics: 1. There are no themes built into the software so getting a predeveloped background to a page isn't available. I somehow have to design my own in Designer. Not easy. Where can I reasonably buy a set of page backgrounds? 2. All my master pages are white - how do I colour them? Do i just layer them up with a photo frame and then fill them with colour? Doesn't seem right. 3. I cannot get to grips with artboards. I was used to the space around my document as an artboard but somehow this software doesn't seem to work like that? 4. What happened to the lasso - grouping various parts together to group them? This is just for starters. i think this software was designed for professionals not amateurs like me.
  10. Have now found it but why is this software so much harder to get to grips with?
  11. i have used Page plus for years but recently decided it was time to update to the new package. I produce a newsletter for a charity i am involved with. I am finding it hard and have worked through quite a number of the you tube activities. I am stumped today as I start to produce the cover of my newsletter. I cannot seem to find any fonts! The font manager only shows Ariel. Where do I find all the others. Please do not tell me i have to buy them!
  12. Transferring content from Serif PagePlus 9 I have been using Pageplus for a number of years, and have recently decided that as it is no longer supported i needed to move on. I have bought the Affinity suite although i will continue to use both Pageplus and Photoshop for some time. My question is this - is there a way to transfer all the clip art/ assets i have in Page plus? There are so many useful templates in Pageplus and I really don't want to have to buy new.
