From other threads, I see that I’m not the only one confused by iCloud file management between the iPad and desktop Affinity apps. I started with Affinity 1, and upgraded to 2 when it came out. I’m a casual user (hobbyist), so I’ve been muddling through the few times I needed to copy files between versions, but I would like to clean things up. There are two folders in iCloud, both named “Affinity Designer”. One was created by version 1, the other by version 2, but they both show the same display name (apparently iCloud knows which is which). I have a few files in each. I’ve been able to open files from both folders in the version 2 apps, and also from my desktop version, but it’s very confusing to try and keep track of where the latest versions are stored.
It sounds like the recommendation from other users is to ignore the app-created folders, and just manually create my own project folders in iCloud for storing Affinity files. Is that correct? Can I just move all the existing files out of the app folders, or will that confuse Affinity? Maybe I should open each one from the app and specifically save it into the new location?
Thanks in advance!
