  1. People literally mentioned that there was a plugin for Illustrator that could do it. If some third party can make a plugin that does it, so can the developers. This was where you tipped off that you are just here to argue because you have to know you don't understand the advice you're trying to give. And even 45 minutes ago you wrote that you "can't understand how it could be done" when I pointed out to you and you ignored my mention of the Auto option for leading override. Since they already have that done, all they would have to do is add in something short to bound that to a box (its a lot like this other feature in Affinity called masking) and add the breaks as they overlap going down, then have it apply auto leading override. Sure you'd end up with a square that is 75% of your page and the text might be at 1px, but don't say it can't be done with just one click. You're probably going to say that "there's still some stuff that would have to be measured out," or "they'd still have equations to do" but it's not done on paper anymore, we have computers. The bolded portion below is where you state you don't see it as "that easy" but even as I already mentioned...someone ELSE has already mentioned...that someone else outside of ADOBE, wrote a plugin for their app. If they can do it, then it can be done here. So I've reference multiple people you ignored and with the bolded portion below, it's clear you are just here to argue because you are very unfamiliar with not only how this program works, but the general basis of how many programs work. 💁🏼‍♂️ I didn't bold the one part because in this same post you say that you believe they shouldn't add this because you see it falling into some sort of popularity contest funnel. So just because its something you don't want or need, but the MAJORITY (you're the one who said it was in the popular group) want it, you don't think it should be implemented? How is that "not what [you] said or believe" as you stated in the bolded portion below? This all was exhausting, but needed to be said because people need to understand that just because you learned Photoshop the year it came out, that doesn't make you an expert on modern day editing software. You'll say "but years of experience," yet I already listed multiple times (please don't ignore those too) that you refuse to learn. I've sent your account to multiple mods and outlined the problem you're causing (not just on this thread, but to the entire Affinity forums,) by getting to spread this nonsense in 22k posts. Bonus round? After all that fun we just had above, you're still gonna cling on to the one part I didn't mention, where you said that they don't read this particular section of the forums for suggestions. But I would advise you to recheck the part about you not understanding exactly how programs work, because it was implied that I also meant search engines/forums/browsers/modern day companies/etc. If this forums as a whole did not have people like you, pretending to know better, talking about how "its hard" or "we don't need it." Then there would be an actual open discussion and dialogue on how and why we need it, which would lead to more people doing the "+1" and this page would get popular and the developers would see it. Even the very simplicity of the "+1" is another thing you commented on, acting like you understood, but once again you did not. One more for good measure because it's like, in this day and age, you didn't know or think people (me) would go through only 5 pages of forums posts to not only find my answer, but then to go quote your replies? Wild. Affinity should take this as a obvious reason to completely re-do their forums. With proper moderating, teachers, and banning, they'd end getting more retention on their products because people would be able to learn them faster and there'd be an actual community for their suite.
  2. I wanted to reply to this one first because it just seems like nonsense? I assume it's a bot. You respond to both people like you didn't actually read what they said, but use computer generated "trigger words." Lol. 🤣 People have given examples of how it would work. There's literally an "auto" option in the leading override. These replies lead me to believe that you didn't know Art Text could be more than one line? If you were unaware of these things you shouldn't be in this thread speaking about a feature associated with text formatting. You literally listed three steps that could be fixed with one button. And your shift in tone from !AfinitySerif to me is exactly what I was talking about when I said you'd get to play like you were just trying to understand. You came in this thread multiple times to argue with people about why you think 3 steps is better than 1 and you don't even fully understand the tool in which you're talking about. What's worse is that this means you were just browsing these forums to talk about something you don't fully know? Because the only people initially finding this page are people who needed this feature. So either you needed the feature or you just came in here to argue. I'll make sure to email a mod on the forum about your account. Instead of Affinity coming in here and seeing more and more people who want this feature (which is literally why !AffinitySerif replied in the first place) they will see you arguing with them about how "it's just fine" when it isn't.
  3. This was exactly my experience with the website recently too. It seems to be that many people are stuck in the ways of how "easy" these things were when they first came out. So now we get replies that are like "why do you need this feature?" because these people spent 20 years with apps like these and they don't understand the dreaded "change." Framed Text was always the norm, which is why you see the one guy mention "why would you need art text when framed is superior?" That's just not true, they're two different things and thats why they have the two tools, this thread was just to discuss peoples want for a feature. Just because you don't understand why someone would want something, doesn't mean it's "stupid" or "wrong." This thread has been open since 2015, so how are y'all still asking why we want the feature? And the people who "tried to help" !AffinitySerif in this thread, argue against change/a new feature by simply ignoring what was said and playing the "but I don't get it" card until the person gets frustrated. Then you get to play victim like "but I was only trying to understand." No, you were doing literally the opposite, actively trying not to understand. ~ and back OT I came here because we NEED this feature Affinity!
  4. I regularly export my assets to my iCloud because I work on my iPad as well. Is there another way I should be saving these?
  5. Hi all, So it's frustrating to me that every time I have to add a new subcategory to an asset category, I have to click "move up" 15 times to get it into alphabetical order. There's the "sort categories" button but not one for the subcategories? Am I missing something? My other thought was that maybe I'm overusing assets because I have essentially "Nature" category" and then like 20 subcategories or like water, planets, clouds, etc. Today I realized I had a lot of bees made, so I wanted to sort them to a "Bee" subcategory, so it took a lot of "Move Up." Hopefully theres a better way to do this and I'm missing it.
  6. This looks neat and I appreciate it, I didn't know I could do this. But I'm not sure this exactly saves me the time like I was hoping a shortcut would. I really appreciate all your replies!
  7. Is this not a normal thing to do? I don't feel like I know another way to get the same thing I have in the video below. How else would I get something like this? Screen Recording 2022-07-31 at 11.33.34 AM.mov
  8. As you can see here, I just don't want to have to keep going back to clicking the node and was hoping there was a keyboard shortcut. E8B4B029-F6D5-4223-BB89-91C1253FF59E.mov
  9. I'll grab a screen recording for you, but all I did was click the node and it takes away the second handle. I'm on Mac and it's not a big deal, but I was curious if there was a keyboard shortcut without having to click it.
  10. Hello all! After this forums has helped me so much, I finally created an account because I can't seem to find an answer to my question online, but it seems like something that would be implemented. Is there a way for me to slope a node with a keyboard shortcut? I do a lot of work with the pen tool and I've always thought that having to go back to the previous node I created, just to click it and go make a new one seems tedious and takes up a lot of time while doing a large project. I didn't even know it was called "slope" until I tried looking in the help menu. I've included screenshots of what I'm trying to do to a node with a shortcut incase I didn't explain it correctly.
