  1. Problem Solved - It was due to AMD Graphics Software which has Global Hotkeys enabled by default... There are 3 categories of hotkeys (Media, Recording, Performance) If anyone ever encounters certain shortcuts not working on a system where they also have AMD Graphics Software installed - Navigate to the AMD Software's settings & disable or edit the hotkeys that are set by default ... The very 1st one which was CTRL+SHIFT+S for Save Instant Replay.... Go Figure...
  2. Hi, thanks for the suggestion but that does not solve the issue - I've tried it by both resetting the shortcut & manually entering it...
  3. Yes, both the File Menu & Shortcut Preferences show Ctrl+Shift+S as the assigned shortcut for Save As:
  4. Hi, on a fresh installation of 2.3 Suite on Windows... Ctrl+Shift+S Shortcut for Save As command is not working on all 3 of the V2 Software... Save As works when manually selected from the File drop-down, but not when input as a shortcut... Works fine on V1.... Other file command shortcuts seem to be working fine on V2 except for the Save As... Same behavior for existing files & newly created files.... Any ideas?
  5. It would be a shame for it to remain this way; It is the ignorance of these types of minor refinements that will ultimately prevent this suite from reaching its full potential...
  6. When you smooth a node & get two handles.... You might want to use ALT + DRAG to create a cusp, which allows you to move one handle independent of the other one - When moving that one handle you might want to have it snap to anything... The issue is that you are unable to use snapping while doing this because pressing ALT also ignores snapping - At this point, the ALT shortcut used to ignore snapping is causing more problems than being useful - Is there a fix or workaround for this? At the very least we should be able to disable or change ALT as a modifier for disabling snapping:
  7. The guides in the bleed area was more of a secondary feature request - A compromise that can be used as a workaround for some users who might want the guides to be visible outside the artboard - The original request would still be more desirable & with the option to enable or disable the visibility of guides outside the artboard, you do not need to worry about the purpose of it for someone who might find it useful:
  8. You're correct - it was a quick example & also not the best example.... It's difficult to show by generic examples but it is a useful feature to have sometimes... I was hoping that at the very least, if you set bleed for an artboard, that the guides would at least show up in the bleed area, but they do not - That might be a happy medium; to allow the guides to at least be visible within the bleed that is set for each artboard...
  9. Not sure if this would qualify as a good visual example, but here is a basic example demonstrating one way you can use universal guides across artboards...
  10. You are correct - if it was either or, I would choose the current behavior as well, but if universal guides was an option you could enable / disable, then having the option for the guides span across the entire document is useful sometimes - I'm not sure if I can provide a good enough visual example that would persuade you because any example is also achievable by the method you mentioned...
  11. After you customize your grid within your initial artboard, you might expect that every newly created artboard will inherit the same grid as the one you initially setup for that document... It depends... If you use the Artboard Tool to insert a new artboard, the artboard will have the default grid - The request is for every new artboard created within a document to inherit the most recent customized grid.... Suggestion / Workaround - As it is now, if you want to create a new artboard that has the same custom grid as your previous artboard, instead of using the Artboard Tool to insert a new artboard, use this workaround: Using the Move Tool, click on the artboard label to activate the artboard that has the custom grid you have already setup, then use the ALT key to drag a copy of that artboard - The newly copied artboard will have the same grid you had previously customized -
  12. Note: With the option to enable/disable this functionality, the user will have the choice to make the guides specific to each artboard or not... So no need to worry about things getting messy: The benefit(s) depend on the user - for ex; you might be creating a logo & naturally make slight modifications in the process... Before you know it, you might have several variations based on the initial design - Some users might group these variations as layers and turn them on/off to compare/contrast, but that can actually get messy and does not allow you to see all the variations next to each other... Other users might create a separate document for each variation which can also get messy & also make it difficult to view them altogether... This is one example where artboards are very useful - After your initial design, you duplicate the artboards, and using the same guides going horizontally and/or vertically across all the artboards, make your variations - Think of the artboards as storyboard panels on a single sheet & the universal guides as construction lines....
  13. Please add the ability to quickly select an artboard by double clicking an empty area within any artboard - Currently, there are the following 3 ways to select an artboard in Designer: With the Artboard Tool selected, click an artboard. On the Layers panel, select an artboard entry. With the Move Tool selected, do one of the following: Click on an artboard's label. Click on any empty artboard Yet none of these methods are as efficient as the double click via the Move Tool method - Double Clicking in an empty area within an artboard is currently unused so please use it to implement this action -
  14. Please give the user the option to turn on / off visibility of guides outside the artboard / canvas : Suggestion is for Designer but the functionality will probably be welcomed by users of the entire suite:
  15. yes it makes sense that is the current behavior... but it doesn't make sense for it to remain that way - since spacebar is not a modifier for control for any other action, the suggestion is to make the combination work both ways which would make more sense than anything else:
  16. Spacebar + Control strictly in that order triggers the zoom tool after which you can move your mouse / trackball to zoom in / out or simply click to zoom in a given percentage or add alt to the mix and then click to zoom out a given percentage.... The issue: If you are already pressing control & add spacebar to the mix, the zoom tool does not get activated; This might seem like a minor inconvenience, but it adds up in real world use.... Given that pressing control before space does not trigger any other shortcut, please fix this behavior to activate the zoom tool regardless the order of key presses: The zoom tool should activate whether you place space before control or vice versa.... It works this way in Illustrator & there are times the user ends up using this way depending on their previous operation: Please fix this:
  17. Thanks for responding, I am sure it has been logged but simply logging without resolving such a core issue is the issue in itself.... As important as the issue is the proposed resolution _ We would appreciate if the proposed resolution not only be logged with the developers but implemented already; The same issue had been raised in a thread that was posted almost 1.5 years ago.... There is no way such an outstanding issue with such an easy fix should take that long to resolve & these types of unresolved minor issues are why customers start to reconsider using the software as a full replacement for some others..... The proposed resolution in the original post should have been implemented by now if it was logged with the developers; if not then it should be acknowledged: Keep in mind that the software itself still has the non-working shortcut command tip on the bottom toolbar.... It is visible on the screenshot attached to the original post; There is no other professional design software on the market that has a similar issue, where its proposed shortcut does not work: These types of unresolved fundamental issues are what will drive customers away from these products in the long run - This is not a feature request, This is a resolution request.... It is a rookie mistake that has a simple fix which instead of being discovered & resolved by the development team has been discovered & proposed by customers: There is absolutely no excuse as to why such a silly mistake should take 2 years to fix; It should have been resolved yesterday. @NathanC Thank you for the welcome! 🙂
  18. This is a known bug on the Windows version of Designer that has not been addressed for a while yet there is a simple solution: The bug/issue: The Control key on Windows is the modifier used to access the node tool while the pen tool is active - When using this modifier, you are presented with some shortcuts, one of which is the option to Click to create a new node on the curve; In order to create a new node on the curve while you are in the node modifier within the pen tool, you are directed to just click anywhere on the curve, but this action results in the deletion of that segment - The reason for this behavior is that there is another modifier shortcut which is Click + Ctrl to delete segment ; Because you are already holding the control key to temporarily access the node tool, a click results in the segment being deleted instead of a new node being added along the curve: The fix: Click + Alt is being used to straighten to line; Click + Control is being used to delete segment; Click + Shift is currently not being used while in the node modifier from the pen tool and the shift key has always been associated with adding something so it is a very natural shortcut for the operation; If the Click + Shift to create a new node on the curve shortcut is implemented, this is how it would work - After drawing a curve with your pen tool you would press and hold control to activate the node tool modifier, then you would hold shift as well - Now you are pressing both the control & shift keys - Just click anywhere along the curve to create a new node on the curve - Attached is an image showing that the Click + Shift shortcut is not currently being used while in the node tool modifier -
