  1. You guys must be busy, but I appreciate that you got to this one! I experimented again with the same setup, and with several tries couldn't reproduce this behavior. Whether just a glitch or a software change since December, I now like the result. I enjoy focus stacking for cases like sharp flowers in the foreground of a subject quite a distance away. Still loving Affinity Photo, especially for the price!
  2. This would be for RAW. I shoot both but rarely use the RAW because JPEG is fine. But if I want to use RAW more often I need a way to apply a basic set of changes -- just like I set my camera to do. For example, slightly increased saturation and contrast for landscapes. But the same concept of saving a set of edits as a macro should still be technically possible. The changes per layer and order of the layers should be convertible into a macro.
  3. As a fairly new user, editing is a trial and error, iterative process. For example, I might start with exposure, contrast, and saturation but don't immediately know how much for each one. Once I get the desired result it would be nice to save the final changes as a macro. Is there a way to do that? If not, is it on a list for a future release?
  4. It looks like there are no controls available for alignment of focus bracketed images. Is that right? I'm experimenting, and get a strange result. I know the reason is that there is a large gap between the in-focus front and back parts of the scene. Sometimes it works perfectly, other times I get the strange result. The obvious solution is to select only the front and back images that are mostly focused for stacking, but I'm curious to hear whether there is a different solution. The GREAT news is that Affinity alignment -- with the right scene -- does an amazing job even with hand-held shots! Thanks.
  5. I guess I'll use that approach. Thanks Walt. (Are you Walt from POK? Long time!)
  6. My ID is listed as Owner, and permissions are the same as SYSTEM and Administrators.
  7. It looks like this SHOULD work! But for some reason MS won't let me add the program to Faststone. If I double click it in Explorer, AF2 opens so that shows the link is functional. I have stepped down through the path with the dialog to identify the file, and have pasted in the full path plus file name but get the same error.
  8. I spent my career in software. Some people make choices on principle or philosophy -- MS Apps is the "right" direction. Others on practicality. Since there is no document method to have Affinity Photo 2 launches from applications like Faststone, they have failed. Installation processes aren't trivial, but since V1 used traditional methods they certainly know how to make this work. I wonder if they even bother to follow the forums...
  9. I can confirm that unzipping the install package with 7-zip and using the path to photo.exe works under Faststone viewer - so should work with others too. "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Photo2\App\Photo.exe" One problem with this is that updates will go wherever Serif is putting them, and won't get duplicated into this path. We need the real solution -- go back to the install process of V1.
  10. New to Affinity. I want to change the color in a selected area, explicitly setting RGB or CMYK. The Flood Fill bucket does change the color, but does not retain the exact values. For example, I wanted CMYK at 100/0/0/0 (pure Cyan). The change appeared to be done but when I use the eye dropper to sample the color, I get 69/15/0/0. Is this a bug? How do I get it to set exactly the color I specify? The same happens with the paint brush tool.
