We are having performance issues with our Affinity Publisher, a simple file opened on a VM machine takes up 16gb of RAM. A larger file takes up to 64gb.
We have a Virtualized environment, of wich a max of 64gb of Ram is shared among a max of 4 users. Our problem, when one user opens a large Affinity Publisher file, the other 3 users are unable to work because there isnt enough available RAM.
I wanted to see if perhaps enabling Hardware acceleration would take off some of the load from the RAM and place it into the VRAM, but I am unable to do so.
Following warning is displayed:
I could also place a limit to 16Gb of RAM usage to the program under the Performance options, would that cause any performance issues?
Our Hardware:
Intel Xeon Gold 6246R
the VM Machine has a virtualized GPU : NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000
64GB of RAM
these resources are shared by a max 4 VM users
--------------------------
just a follow up:
the same simple file opened on a a Workstation
and the same file opened on a VM
Why is the RAM usage exploding?
