  1. @thomaso Thank you for taking the time to outline a wonderful reply. I am so grateful. I cannot believe I never thought to duplicate the vector and change the color, it's a much simpler solution and avoids the headache I created! Last question regarding colors in document, if I were to change the current document color settings from RGB to CMYK, are all the colors immediately converted?
  2. Thanks for the reply. I played around with the rasterization settings and the export looks fantastic. Can I assume when printed onto promo items and paper ads, that quality will reflect as I see it now digitally? rasterized TEST.pdf
  3. Affinity Designer V1 1.10.6.1665 I have added a drop shadow to my design. When I export as print ready PDF, or any other form of PDF, the shadow looks quite pixelated when zoomed in. Would like to use this on promotional items and giveaways, so crisp lines is important. Not familiar with print ready files, so perhaps I'm being too critical. Please share insights and tips. Many thanks in advance. print ready TEST.pdf pdf_x4 print settings.pdf
  4. Before this update, I have never had any issues with either Photo or Designer. Now I am having trouble with both, more so with Photo. I am not sure if Affinity is aware. Is there a way I can revert to a previous version? I updated this week to version 1.10.1.1142 I am running windows 10 Pro
  5. @NotMyFault I appreciate all the feedback. I am still unable to get the results based on your advice. Could you explain what I can do to restore the parts I want after I place image into the file?
  6. @NotMyFault I am unable to select just the mask layer without the pixel layer. Is that normal? In regards to the brushes used, I was only correcting the inside portions that were background only. Sadly, I didn’t discover the “erase background” brush until after I begun with using the “erase” brush. I can see the example you highlighted as my error, but the other areas seem to have vanished. I still cannot explain why there are two portions inside my mask that are missing from the mask. Both areas I didn’t use the brush around. I’m generally using “undo task” liberally and would have caught my error before advancing. Would it be possible to add the source image to the file again and some how “restore” the areas that are missing and erased?
  7. Thanks for the tip. I've tried this one before and the only thing that happens is adding white and essentially erasing my object. I've even watched videos on it and that hasn't worked for me before. Is it an issue that the object is already masked?
  8. Hello everyone, I was in AP wanting to clip some art away from the background. I did almost make it perfect, except there is a portion that is missing which was never touched by me using any other tools. It seems to have unknowingly "erased" itself. I read other forums and tried suggested solutions, but nothing worked. I don't want to have to do the selection all over since I am not very savvy with it. The mistake can be found at the bottom of the plant inside the red circle. I've uploaded the source file if anyone can take a look. Masked GCB NEW LABEL July 2021.afphoto
  9. Hi Loukash, Sorry for the late reply. I didn't realize I can download the trial version. That's a good tip. Thanks!
  10. Hello all, Every time that I open an old AI file, it makes notes of things that need to be adapted for AD. When it opens, the file looks nothing like the source file. Often times it is corrupted. If I read correctly, I should have saved files with the box ticked that it is "PDF compatible". I only make simple designs for work and learn as I go, so I am sure I missed the obvious. However, I do not have AI any longer and cannot fix my mistakes. What can I do to get the AI files to open successfully in AD?
