Affinity Publisher 2.2 Cross-references added to Publisher 🤩👍 More on https://affinity.serif.com/whats-new/

The question of cross-references has existed for a long time. The first comment here is from July 2020! Even though walt.farrell already wrote on December 16, 2022 that Serif generally does not comment on future development work. I find it a great pity that none of the developers leave a comment on this topic. In a software like Affinity Publisher, which advertises to be able to create even larger documents (more than 50 pages), a cross-reference functionality "in my opinion" should not be missing. Unless you only use it to design "fashion magazines" and the like. Affinity Publisher is much too good not to use it for creating manuals as well. But these almost always need cross-references. Please Serif...Give us a little hope 😃

Version 1.10 ist offiziell. Hat schon jemand Informationen, ob die gewünschte Cross-Reference Funktionalität nun in dieser Version enthalten ist? Translation: Version 1.10 is official. Das man diesen Workaround verwenden kann, daran besteht kein Zweifel. Genau dafür gibt es ja die Verkettung der Textrahmen und auch das Feld für die entsprechende Seitennummer. Da in meinem Dokument aber oft von mehreren Stellen auf die gleiche Seite (oder Textrahmen) verwiesen wird, macht es damit aber umständlich und fehleranfällig. Hier mal ein Auszug aus dem Handbuch mit ein paar Querverweisen. Ich möchte ja nur ein Feld haben, welches es mir ermöglicht einen benannten Ankerpunkt als Querverweis anzugeben und dieses Feld prägt dann die Seitenzahl aus. So wie es schon beispielsweise in Word implementiert ist. Translation: There is no doubt that this workaround can be used. Serif hat mit dem Publisher in Version 1.x schon ein Super Programm abgeliefert. Ich denke sie haben noch viele tolle Ideen für 2.0. Aber es würde mich und viele andere freuen, wenn die Querverweise, in der beschriebenen Form, schon in 1.9.x eingebaut würde. Sie können diese ja dann in 2.0 verbessern ;-) Weiterhin bleibt die Frage „Wie wurden die Querverweise im Workbook“ realisiert? Ich hoffe, ich kann das Thema „Querverweise“ nochmal ins Rollen bringen. Ich bin sehr an der Überarbeitung eines Software-Anwender-Handbuches (erstell mit Word 2016 – 257 Seiten) interessiert und würde dafür gerne den Publisher verwenden. In diesem, von mir erstellten Handbuch gibt es sehr viele Querverweise in der Form von „siehe Seite 123“. Im deutschen „Affinity Publisher WORKBOOK“ habe ich solche Querverweise auch schon auf vielen Seiten gefunden. Alleine auf den Seiten, auf denen sich die Mitwirkenden vorstellen, wird auf deren Kapitel mit einer Seitenzahl verwiesen. Im Vorwort wird erwähnt, dass das Workbook mit Affinity Publisher entworfen und produziert wurde. Nun stellt sich mir die Frage ob bei der Erstellung dieses hervorragenden Workbooks die Aufnahme der Querverweise mit (z.B. „Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – Cover auf Seite 362“) von Hand eingetragen wurden. Sollte dieses Workbook einmal um eine neue Seite ergänzt werden, so wäre ein Überarbeiten der Seitenzahlen wohl eine Menge Arbeit. Bitte zeigt mir einen automatisierten Weg zum Verwalten und Aktualisieren von Querverweisen. Am besten nehmen die Entwickler die Querverweise in ein kommendes Update auf. Ihr habt so eine tolle Software erschaffen. Da werden doch wohl die Querverweise kein unlösbares Problem darstellen.
