  1. Thanks so much Tomaso! Will give them a watch. I don't think I ever noticed that upgrade and update were different. That's seems crazy when i type it, but true..
  2. Yes Tomaso you are right, it doesn't show the Master 2 and I don't know why, but as you see here these are my folders and how they are set up. Yes, RC-C I do understand the difference between linked and embedded files and always have. But when AFP changes the Dev. Persona it's not something I would have known to look for. And you are right RC-R I didn't understand that linking was the default and that there was even an option to switch. Should I have known, did I not read something? Thanks for the heads up on that Tomaso, will make future trouble shooting helpful. Bruce, thanks for the tip. The happy end result is that it's all sorted with the exception of my missing layer adjustments. Thanks so much for helping me through this guys!! Kudos to all.
  3. RC-R you are a savior!! I had no idea output had been changed!! It apparently defaults to linked rather than embedded, so when I redeveloped the file just now an selected embedded it appeared as a Hires file in my Selects folder. Thank You! Thank You!
  4. Thanks Tomaso. What is this? Is there some way to control it? Where would I find that? That may be the problem! My folder structure is: volume E; Master Photofile 2; Sony; '23 Garden ARW files); Garden Selects '23 (Developed, post pro worked .afphoto files). That hasn't changed.
  5. Yes, of course I selected the folder I wanted it to reside in Walt, I think that is clear from the sentence. My workflow: download RAW files from card into Bridge which allows me to select the destination folder, in this case '23 Garden; when I open '23 Garden I see all my ARW files; I review these images and drag the images I want to work with to a new folder called Garden Selects '23 in this case; I open the ARW files in Devlope Persona make adjustments as required and assign ICC Profile (Adobe '98); I develop the file which now appears as an .afphoto file; I use Layers, Selections, Select Color, Curves, etc. to post pro the file; I then Save As back to the Garden Selects '23 folder. I pull from my Selects files to create prints or books. I'm not sure what you mean by this RC-R. I click Develop in Dev. Persona.
  6. Edited to a separate folder means I developed the file in Dev. Persona and edited the files using Layers and Save As to a Select folder. I tried to make that clear above when I described my workflow.
  7. I just went in and opened one of Selects '23 02410 Garden.afphoto. It opened to the Hires version after about 10 seconds. I tried Save As to my Garden Selects '23 folder thinking it would now appear in that folder as the Hires 700MB file, but once again it shows up as Lowres file (1MB). I tried dragging it to my ARW folder thinking it might appear in Hires there but it disappeared from both folders! When I searched for the image I got this window. It was again a Lowres file with yellow highlighting which I have never seen before and no idea what it means.
  8. My work flow: RAW files download off card using Adobe Bridge, ARW files go to Folder (by date, subject), Selects are edited to a separate folder within the ARW folder, Select files are developed and to .afphoto files and Save As back to Select folder. This has always been my workflow and have never had a problem with Lowres stand ins before. Don't know why it happened. I can get back to my Hires Select .afphoto images but they don't have the Layers which is a real pisser.
  9. Yes Bruce, there were layers: Contrast and Brightness, Curves and Selective Colors.
  10. DSC03410.ARW file is located in the E drive, Folder Garden '23 (1st screen shot). The .afphoto file is located in the Garden Selects '23 folder (2nd screen shot). The 3rd screen shot shows what happens when I try to open the .afphoto version of '23 03410 Garden.aphoto. I'm directed to the 4th screen shot and when I click OPEN a Hires file opens in in Affinity Photo as you see in the 5th screen shot, but with no layers. This is an unworkable workflow! When I open an .afphoto file I want it to open as the Hires file and not have to go through this mumbo jumbo. What do you suggest?
  11. Thanks so much Tomaso and RC-R for going deep on this with me. My Missing Resources window does appear and when I click Yes it takes me to my folders where I select the Garden Selects '23 folder, but it just takes me back to the afp window and no file is loaded. I have never seen a _highres or _lowres option. This morning without having changed anything, when I open an .aphoto file from my Garden Selects '23 folder it opens a pixilated image which after 10 seconds becomes a highres image but without any of the Layers used to create the .aphoto file. More info.: I went back to the original .ARW files on a few of the Select images and reworked them to .aphoto files, saved them to the Garden Selects '23 folder and when I open that folder the newly worked files are there as 800MB files. I'm not sure what is happening. Why were any of my .aphoto files saved as lowres to begin with? Is there a setting that I can change.
  12. Here is the way I have my folders set up. When I scroll over any of these select files it shows the size as 1MB, they should be about 700MB. When I try to open any of these files in AF v.2 I get the notice that the file is missing and would you like to locate it? When I check yes, it brings me to the Resource Manager which I have shown you in screen shots already posted.
  13. Yes, I can open the original RAW file, but I can't open the same file that has been worked on in the Selects Folder, and that is the problem. For some reason AP isn't seeing the RAW data that Walt (above) refers to.
  14. Yes. My E Drive is always mounted. When I choose Relink I'm directed to select the Folder the file is in. I do this but nothing happens. The way my folders are set up is my Selects Folder is nested within the rest of my RAW images from the same date. Is that a problem and preventing .afphoto from seeing the original RAW data?
  15. All RAW files are downloaded from card prior to opening Thomaso. As Walt sagely notes, I'm running V.2 so apparently what has happened is when I SAVED the post pro file it saved it as a much smaller file. Walt, the original file is in my "E:\Sony …". drive and is mounted, but I still get the notice of the missing file as my screen shot above shows. How do I get the .afphoto file to see the RAW data in the original file? Thanks Guys, Roc
  16. When I select "Locate in Document" the above is what I get. In the preceeding post I meant "Relink" not Resize.
  17. In Resource Manager it says file is missing and resizing doesn't work. Thanks Walt!
  18. I worked up select files in AFP 2.1 and using "Save As" that created files of approx. 120MGs. When I went back to examine the files they were all less than 1MG. Prior to examining the files I had up graded to v. 2.1.1. Have never had this problem before. Any thoughts. Working in Windows 11 on a Microsoft Surface Pro. Thanks for your thoughts. Roc
  19. BofG Your suggestion was right on, I had my layers nested incorrectly. Thanks again! Roc
  20. Hello! Attempting to export to PDF for Blurb output from Publisher 10.5 on Microsoft Surface and using Acrobat. Attached files show document and export settings and output errors in the final PDF. There are 2 abutting images of trees which should both be sepia but the right one outputs as blue and the cloud/fish image has a screened back rectangular artifact in the middle. Can someone sort this? I can't figure out what the problem is. I get the same results with multiple attempts. Thanks! Roc
  21. Thanks for the the feedback guys. RC-R per original post, the problem is that the Save was truncated so never saved in AFPub document. If you have any insights I'd love to hear them. Thanks, Roc
