I've created a Live Stack Group of two images, and I want to selectively mask one image. I've added a mask, selected only the mask, and either the Brush or Erase tool. Hardness is set to 0, but the brush retains 100% hardness. See circled in the image. What am I doing wrong here? Selectively brushing a mask should be pretty straightforward and I've done it countless times in Photoshop in years gone by.

Indeed, and if I want to re-do my focus merge all over again, this is another area where Affinity Photo doesn't quite measure up. I have two words: Helicon Focus.
