I think that got me there – not a separate ID, but it looks like I wasn't signed in to the MAS so it wasn't showing purchased apps, just OS. Looks to be downloading now – thanks!

It does not ask if I want to open. To the best of my knowledge I have only one AppleID. It did update to 1.8.3 on my laptop, but not on my desktop (I have it for all of my computers).

I have Affinity Photo 1.7.3, and Designer 1.7.3, I believe both were purchased originally through the Apple App Store (when I checked my orders direct to Affinity the only thing that showed up was the Photo workbook). But the store doesn't show any updates available for me, and when I go to the individual app pages there it just gives a purchase option. I don't see any menu item in the apps to check for updates, as described above. I received an email on 27 February notifying me of the 1.8 release, today was the first time I've been able to take the time to try and update but it isn't working!
