I also need this feature! I use Publisher for generating public event tickets, and I often need to insert QR codes into them. I was thrilled when you introduced the integrated QR code generator into Publisher, but I can't use it, because I need to dynamically generate qr codes using a field from Data Merge -

+1 for data merge, I'm going to replace drop InDesign in favor of Publisher once you add Data Merge with CSV and image replacement support.
