No real documentation is a PITA!
I don't know how many (too Many!) times I have looked at the help to find it of no help!
Now I'm looking to find out what the sponge brush does. Is it in the help NO! Are any of the tools in Help NO!!
Don't you think it's time for a paid app to have proper documentation?
I know there are the acclaimed tutorials but just try to find one single thing good luck.
COME ON Document the apps.

It's not possible to change the default profile but you can select other profiles by going to Color Sliders and clicking the Cog next to the drop down menu:
Where are you finding this cog? What app.

I want to thank you all, I have learned a lot. @JoePoe yes that's how it began but after a lot of trial and error I found out all I needed was a simple jpg. I was intending to use this mask for a transparency map in Poser but as I said as it turns out all I needed was a simple jpg. Again I want to thank all of you for helping a lot of brain work went into the answers, I am saving this thread as a pdf for future reference. Tried to upload the pdf but was not permitted. (Safari exports to pdf for anyone who wants to save this thread.)

I'm on a very thin limb here, but have you tried power duplicate?
What is power duplicate and where is it located?

Hi johnsta,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
A blend tool is already on our roadmap but it still may take a while until it becomes available.
Do we have the blend tool yet if not what can we use?

Thank you both, I'm glad it can be done, as for sticky settings not sure what that means.

After choosing a vector brush ( from textured brushes) I have set up my brush properties and pressure. Now how can I save these settings for later use? Thanks.

Saw that tut. I want a way to do it while I am using the node tool ( as mentioned in the original post) not the pen tool.
Thanks anyway...

Just want to keep it at the top. I use design for making 3D texture maps and I want my transparent UV layer to always be on top over laying everything below it but I find my self adding layer on top of it and then I have to stop my work flow and move the UVs to the top again PITA.

Look at Monoprice tablets good prices and size just got one works fine with Photo and design. Lot's cheaper than Wacom.

How can I permanently keep a layer at the top.I tried locking it but that doesn't work.

After you have made a curve and you are using the node tool is there a short cut for changing from a sharp node to a smooth node?
or do you have to mouse up to the choices?
Thanks

I was just testing the masking ability. I will be doing what you suggest. Thanks

Were you talking about something like this?

If you want this, use your ellipse as your main layer, then either drag the teeth, and tongue objects as a child layer under the oval lips. This will give you, your layered mask, or whatever you want to call it. You can get the same results by selecting the teeth and tongue, go to Edit-Cut, then select your oval and do a Edit-Past Inside.
I selected the oval and modified the pressure settings for the stroke to make them look more like lips with a varying thickness.
Sorry in advance if I didn't understand your request properly. Good luck.
This worked just fantastic now if I can just remember it... ;)

All well and good but does not answer the question as to when we will get proper Documentation.
As for the help on my slower Mac Mavericks Help is slow to load if it does load the first time usually have to open twice if I had a pdf there it would be opened.
