  1. In Publisher V2, I no longer have access as in V1 to the array options. The 2 buttons in the toolbar are inactive. I cannot therefore, for example, adjust the size of the cells by entering a numerical value as before on a multiple selection of cells.
  2. after installing v2 on my ipad pro I no longer have access to the user manuals which were very complete in v1. we just have access to a few videos on youtube.... Where are the manuals? it seems to me that it is obligatory to provide it, and in addition the few videos are in English which I have a very poor command of.
  3. Hello, it's weird, I did the same thing again, namely creating a 100% black color sample and modified my style sheets accordingly and this time it seems to work... I saved my file and I open them again
  4. hello, An InDesign user for over 20 years, I have now been working with affinity publisher for over 2 years. But I still have some big problems on color management with this software. indeed, after having done more than 80 pages for a catalog, I have just noticed that the black that I had selected (in the palette of grays) is in fact a four-color black. Fortunately I had made style sheets and I thought that changing the color to 100% black in the style sheet would correct all my texts. However, it is not. I always have a process black in the color palette when I select a text with the corrected style sheet, whereas in this one the black is 100% without CMY components (see the screenshot). Can someone explain to me what is happening?
  5. to follow up on this subject, I would like to point out that the creation of an A5 format file of 80 blank pages already weighs 2.37 GB! in activity monitor
  6. Hi there I have been using the Affinity suite for almost 2 years now. I am an old user of the Adobe suite since 1990. I was employed in a printing company or I did layout. I have been retired for 5 years but I continue to work on my own as an auto entrepreneur. Now the cost of the subscription to the Adobe suite has become prohibitive for me, that's why I invested in the Affinity suite which gives me full satisfaction so far. On the other hand, there is a big problem with RAM management with Publisher. Indeed until now I worked on small projects but I have an old work laid out with InDesign to redo. It is a catalog in A4 format of 92 pages including many photos. So I opened the Indesign file in IDML format with Publisher but it's not possible because the RAM used by the software exceeds 10.33 GB while the same version under Indesign is only 1.83 GB! Everything is blocked and impossible to get out of it other than by the forced stop of Publisher. I have a 2021 Imac 24 inch M1 with 8 GB of ram. On the Affinity site, I can't find any information on the minimum configuration required. Will I have to go back to the Adobe suite? Separate my work into several documents? I am really very disappointed by this poor management of RAM. Does anyone have any idea how to get me out of this problem? Thank you all
  7. 715 / 5000 Résultats de traduction The problem is not the amount of memory on the hard drive, but the amount of RAM used by the application! I have plenty of disk space. when I am about to finish my catalog, the application will use more than 16gb of RAM, which is huge compared to InDesign, which uses 8 times less for the same file. This will involve a drastic degradation in the performance of the software with permanent access to the hard drive to save temporary files. The minimum amount of RAM recommended by Serif is 4 GB. Here for 100 pages have reached 16 GB or more. What can we say for large catalogs of several hundred pages ...
  8. Hello I'm doing my first big job since migrating from indesign to Publisher and I'm concerned about the RAM used by the software. I am currently reworking an old InDesign file page by page. I just copy paste the text and manually re-import all the images. It's a catalog of a hundred pages and as you can see on the screenshot the amount of memory allocated by Affinity is much more important than that allocated to InDesign. Especially since for the moment I have redone only 45 pages of my catalog. So I'm worried about not having enough RAM when I'm near the end of it. Is there a problem or is it normal? Thanks for your help.
  9. hi ! i'm very interested in this new data merge feature which i commonly use with indesign to automate the creation of a big catalog, but now i'm stuck on affinity. I can't find the window "fields". Is there a manual for the new features of the beta versions? Thank's Christian
  10. Hello is there a function equivalent to "removal to this point" (see attachment) in order to obtain the following layout (see attachment 2), that is to say an alignment on the first letter from the first line and not on the "-"? Thank you
  11. where is PDF option window please ? it's true when place the PDF non wary for missing font.....
  12. it's a very big problem! especially since publisher doesn't warn us about missing fonts .... I make catalogs in which advertisements are provided by communication agencies. So I'll have to check with the eye if the files are correct and ask them to redo their work by vectorizing the fonts (they will treat me incompetent ...) or I'll have to change all the files by importing them in illustrator ... with all the risks of errors that it entails !! Will there be a quick fix for this problem? Thank you
  13. sorry if I often refer to InDesign but I use this software for almost 20 years and I compare publisher compared to the functions that I had with InDesign .... I have a font problem in a PDF file imported as an image. This PDF file displays correctly in InDesign but does not display correctly for some text in publisher. Apparently this is a missing font problem. See the 2 attached files. Is there a bug or a solution is possible? Thank you
  14. ok its good this morning it was not working. This afternoon it works! there was probably a bug at some point. Thank you
  15. Hello when i want to import this pdf as an image into my layout, the images do not display and there is a gray frame instead. I have never had this problem with indesign. I just tested with this software and it's good. Where does the problem come from ? Thank you Amandine Beard - Visuel Boisselet.pdf
  16. Hello I am new to Affinity Publisher. I am still on indesign with which I work since its launch in 1999. I intend to leave indesign to slowly migrate to affinity publisher. Also I miss an essential function for me, it is the data fusion which exists in indesign and which allows an automatic layout from a file txt or csv. I have 1200 custom displays to create and I do not see how I could do with Publisher. Is such an essential function foreseen in an upcoming update? Once this function implemented, I could then migrate entirely under designer and gradually leave the products of Adobe. Thank you for your reply. Christian
