  1. Earlier this week I used the panel "Text Frame" . I want to use it again, but now when I open it, it is not visible. I can see panels like 'character' , 'textstyle, 'layers' etc when I open them, but not this particular one. I don't understand, is this some kind of bug? What can I do? I use Publisher 2. Thanks in advance for your solutions, Edina
  2. I've saved a copy of the original Word-document in plain text (txt) and it is going better now. Still not ideal, for I have to remove/replace some strange symbols and have to delete hard returns. But this is something to remember doing from now on to spare me time.🙂
  3. I apply the text styles I have made in Publisher for heads, paragraphs etc. Contributors to the magazine usually deliver their articles in word-format and mostly they apply several text styles. How do I turn these articles into plain text before importing them?
  4. Dear all, I'm compiling a magazine and I'm placing text in there delivered in Word format. Placing the text in the text frame and adjusting the typography goes well, but than I don't seem to be able to find a solution for big spaces falling in the middle of paragraphs, leaving needless empty spaces on a page (see attached screenshot for an example) As a solution I've tried to cut and paste part of the latter half of the paragraph right beneath the first half, but that doesn't work; on the contrary, part of the text disappears and it becomes a mess. I have also tried selecting the flow option "keep paragraph together" in the paragraph panel, and the result was that the whole paragraph was places on the next page leaving even a bigger empty space. Dragging the text frame down a bit to allow more text in doesn't work either, i't either too much or too few lines of text. Can you imagine how time consuming and frustrating this is? Can you help me get rid of this recurring problem for good?😬
  5. I have a similar problem: I want to get rid of a stroke around a text frame, so I selected the text-frame and choose 'None' in te stroke-panel. But it doesn't seem to work. Did I do something wrong or is this some kind of bug? I also tried the color panel to make the stroke invisible, but that did not work either. I'm working on the lay-out of a magazine I've already made several editions of, so I'm not an entire newbie. Hereby I attach a screenshot of the page i'm working on, hope this helps.
  6. I tried to see if deletion of layers would work by making them invisible. I'm not quite sure it this is the solution: the fill-color disappeared and only outlines were visible.
  7. Hi Stokerg, Hereby I include my affinity file as attachment. Thanks in advance for your help! best regards, Edina numerical_design.afdesign
  8. Hi Stokerg, Thanks for your answer. I try to use the 'move' tool now to select the excessive parts (everything outside of the 2), but when I trie to do this all outlines disappear. Is there a video tutorial available that shows me how to do this? Or can you explain what steps I should take? Should all layers be selected, for instance? best regards, Edina
  9. I try to follow the tutorial "creating a bold numerical design with Mario De Meyer". I've come to step 3, but I don't know how to delete the excessive parts of the '2'. Using the pen tool and subtracting doesn't work, apparently. How do I go forth? To show what phase I'm in, find attached a screen image.
  10. Hello GarryP, Thus far I made a character superscript with the blue option, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I've tried with the red option now and it works. But I still do not understand why I cannot use the blue option now.
  11. Dear all, At present I'm working on the layout of a magazine in Affinity Publisher, and I need to put a number-character into superscript to refer to a footnote. Thus far there has been no problem with applying this typography to a character, but now I try over and over again and it doesn't work anymore. I've tried closing and reopening the document, but that doesn't help either. Any idea what can be the problem, and how I can fix it? Is it some kind of bug? Just recently I've installed an update of Publisher on my computer.
