I can Not Open HEIC In Affinity PHoto

I am using Mojave 10.14.6 and Affinity 1.7.3. I can't import HEIC files from Photos into Affinity -- the files are grayed -- and the HEIC files will not open in Preview...the HEIC photos are from a new iphone 11 pro.
