  1. Hi, hoping someone can help, I'm fairly new to Affinity Photo and have been having a lot of trouble grasping how some things/tools work or do not work! I have been following loads of tutorials on compositing mainly, , but every time I try to do the same I run into some problem or another with it seems tools not working the same way they do in the tutorials, I'm following letter by letter and have even written down the steps, one which is really bugging me is that when bringing in say the second photo and selecting the "Move" tool to reposition and size it just won't do anything, [I have made sure it is a Pixel Layer not an Image Layer] and it does have the blue box around it with the control points, often I have gone back and retried and then it does work...is this a glitch with the program or is it a mistake I could be making....it really should be such a straightforward process but is getting really frustrating. I do wonder how many other things are not functioning properly and I'm blaming myself for not doing it right. Thanks Sandy
  2. @Cecil many thanks for your suggestion.. the develop/retouching part of things is not the main problem for me, as I said it's more the Compositing, the tutorials I have watched on compositing are not inadequate as such but they really don't explain the whys of each step .... if I follow along using their photos I'm fine..I can do it ..but then when it comes to using my own photo's I'm uncertain of the processes I need to go through to achieve what I want to put together....I guess you could call it the theory behind the practice/process.....for now back to more tutorials !!😀
  3. Hi, I've owned Affinity Photo for quite sometime but have only been dabbling, I have studied a lot of tutorials and am fairly conversant with most of the tools and their functions having had some experience with Photoshop and other programs, the thing I'm having trouble grasping is the When and Why to use certain tools/adjustments during the workflow....I know what I'm aiming for but not sure the correct tools or right way to achieve it. I'm mainly referring to such things like compositing photos etc. I realize there would be different reasons for taking one approach to the way of doing things with each type of composite you are trying to create.....but if there was a tutorial that explained all this it would be beneficial. I have also just purchased the Photo Workbook so I'm hoping that this will also help with this info. Thanks Sandy
  4. Thanks for the help Walt, I do think the upgrade would be the way to go as I will no doubt keep running into this problem. All the best Sandie
  5. Thanks Walt, Is this correct? SetupUI.log Setup.log Oh...on reading through the Log File, I now know what the problem is, not enough Disk Space, I only have a small SSD Drive as the main C.Drive and of course everything want's to load in there, I have cleaned out some files not required and now it has successfully installed, so looks like I am going to need to upgrade my SSD Drive to a larger Capacity. All my Photos are kept on my D Drive which is 1TB
  6. Hi Gabe, Thanks, but being a bit challenged when it comes to all this technical stuff, I don't understand what you have asked me to do, I'm going to need more detailed instruction please. Thanks Sandra
  7. I have just downloaded the latest update but on trying to install it run into a problem, it starts to install and then I get message 'Set up Failed' I have tried a computer restart and running as admin but still get the error message. I have very limited Data so don't want to re-download unless I can be more confident it's going to work. Thank you
