Consider checking your harddisk. My computer died yesterday due to harddisk damage, so i had to switch to another laptop. Saving works fine here so far.

Well restarting helps, but the error reoccurs in no time... So it leaves me wondering what went wrong. Anyway, with restarting I lose the data too. The only way is to restart, check if saving works -> if not, restart again. Kinda unconvenient.

I have the same problem, Windows 8. Exporting as pdf usually helps, but you lose some editing posibilities anyway. Saving worked fine BEFORE the 1.7 update. I changed nothing in my laptop, only the version changed.
