  1. Thank you. I have contacted Affinity directly, but it might be awhile before they can reply since they are dealing with a larger amount of emails because of the recent release of version 2. I figured I'd post here in case someone knew about this or if there was more detailed license available that I just hadn't come across.
  2. Hello. I wasn't really sure what category to put this in. I am a book cover designer and I am currently writing a book with information about DIY book cover design for indie authors who would like to know the basics. Am I allowed to include tutorials and other step-by-step information for how to use Affinity for book cover design, including screenshots? A search on Amazon brings up quite a few unofficial books, but that doesn't mean they are following the rules. There are also countless YouTube tutorials using Affinity screenshots. I wasn't sure what the legal rules are regarding this? I couldn't find anything in the basic Licensing information on the website, unless there is a more in-depth one I am unable to find. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Even if I am allowed to include tutorials, I understand I wouldn't be able to use the logo and I would need to state in the beginning of the book that I am not affiliated in any way with Affinity.
  3. Hello. I'm looking for how to make a galaxy using Affinity Photo. I've been searching on YouTube, but can only find Photoshop tutorials. Thanks.
  4. Hello. I have to make a poster for an event, but it needs to be in various sizes and I was looking for advice on the best way to go about it. The biggest size needed is 24 inches X 36 inches, so I was going to work on that size originally, to make sure all my photos/components being used look okay that big. I need to make a smaller one that will be 11 inches x 14 inches - is it possible to just resize the big one? I also need to make another smaller one that will be 8.5 inches X 11 inches. Would I be able to resize again? Thank you.
  5. As usual...after posting I think I figure out a way to do it. I changed the colour of the bottom image to the new colour, then added a fill layer of that colour and did the same as before. I don't know why I didn't think of that previously. lol. But if there's another way to do it, please share! Thanks.
  6. I have a follow up question now...how do I get an image into the bottom/coloured blended area, such as:
  7. Okay - so I just went and watched a tutorial video and I understand what you were saying about the softness of the brush. I didn't realize there were adjustmetns across the top. Thank you!
  8. Hi. Psensa. Thank you - I see how to do what you've explained, but what brush should I be using? Mine still looks nothing like the example.
  9. Hello. I have been trying to blend a photo into a solid colour, but can't seem to get it right. I've tried using a rectangle and adjusting the gradients and opacity, but I just end up with a very straight looking line, even if the gradient on the blending edge is set to 0%. I figure there most be some other way to do this. I have attached a photo of what I am trying to do. I am using Affinity Photo.
  10. Okay, thanks! This is great! Thanks so much for including the video! I'm afraid I don't know all my terms with vectors and rasters, I still have a lot to learn.
  11. Sorry, I edited my response because I realized you said it was the same in both in your original answer. I've attached the type of vector I would like to change.
  12. Hi Dan! Thanks for the response. The vector is .png Is that what you mean? I still can't seem to figure it out.
  13. Hello. I've only been dabbling in Affinity Photo for about a year and I don't have experience in any other programs. Is there a way to change the colour of a black vector using Affinity Photo? For example, changing it from black to green. Is this possible in Affinty Design? I've been searching, but haven't found the answer anywhere...which makes me think it's not possible, but thought I would finally ask. Thanks.
