  1. Bizarrely it's working. There was a software update a couple of days ago from Epson that targeted their scanning utility. As I explained in my original post I can't use the supplied driver because if corrupts two sided printing (on the Mac). This software update, it said was only for the scanning utility. Ok .. I seem to be up and running. Strictly from a curiosity point of view I'd be interested in knowing why the driver worked for Photoshop Elements but not Affinity. Can't help the feeling there was some clash there. Jack
  2. I get what you're saying, but you now have 2 different reports of the same problem, using different devices. I repeat what I said on my original post Scanner Problems from July 18 with an Epson ET-3750 scanner, the scan works fine in Photoshop Elements but not AP. This would suggest AP is not acquiring the image correctly, at least from some devices. The scan may be operating correctly but not the acquire. Jack
  3. Thanks for that. Does sound like the problem I had with the Espon. I work round the issue by using the Epson scan utility which works fine and then load the output from that into AP. Bit of a hassle but it works. Affinity Support ... will you be investigating this further, please? Jack
  4. The JPG I sent on my original post was at 600dpi. I've rescanned at 100, 200, 300 and 1200 which is all the supported resolutions. All had the same result. I am not by any means a graphics expert (I take photos and tart them up to look pleasing and that's it). The histogram for these images is odd, the red, green and blue channels look identical, which I don't think is what you'd expect. Jack
  5. Thanks for that. I can't use the Epson supplied printer. There seems to be some conflict within the Epson driver and macOS which prevents duplex printing working correctly. Epson support advised I use the Apple driver and that did cure the duplex problem. I repeat what I keep saying .. it works fine, same scanner, same driver in Photoshop Elements which does suggest a problem in Affinity. Elements uses a similar mechanism as Affinity, it calls it Import from Device rather than Acquire. Although I do accept if you don't have access to the device it does make fixing the issue difficult. Jack
  6. Ok, thanks for that. Have just posted a bug report. Jack
  7. I recently purchased an Epson ET-3750 scanner / printer. I am using a Mac. Because of that the Epson supplied driver doesn't work correctly and I was advised to use the Apple version. As part of the "is it working correctly" testing I tried to scan an image into APhoto. The overview image was fine but the final scanned image was completely unusable. I tried the same test into Photoshop Elements and it worked correctly. See the attachment. It contains 2 images, the one from Photo and the other Elements. Both tests used the installed driver. I also have the Epson supplied scan utility which, presumably also uses the Apple driver and it also works fine. Jack Archive.zip
  8. I have the driver software installed which Affinity Photo (and photoshop Elements) use to scan directly into the software. I also have Epson's own scan utility which works fine and I can load the output from that into Affinity or any other image editing software. Yes, that is perfectly possibly. My point was that there seems to be a bug in Affinity which prevents it acquiring the image correctly. Such a bug should be addressed. I raised this on the Forum as there seems to be no other way of reporting bugs, or potential bugs. Jack
  9. It scans into Affinity Photo but the result is useable. See my post further up with attachment Archive.sit. It has 2 images, one from Affinity and the other from Photoshop Elements, both using the same driver. The result from Affinity doesn't have even a remote resemblance to what it should look like. Yes when I say Photos, I meant Affinity Photo. I don't use Apple Photos. Jack
  10. Thanks for that, that would certainly work. But the facility is there to scan directly into Affinity which save time. But it doesn't seem to work. In does in other image editing software which implies a bug in Photos. Jack
  11. Archive.zip The zip file holds 2 JPGs, one is the image from Photos and the other from Elements. The pictures are upside down, I didn't correct it because I wanted, as far as possible to use the same scan options. Regards one of my earlier complaints, the scan in Elements seem very slow as well, that issue could well be with the driver. Jack
  12. It's fine. So is the Overview view in Photos. I tried to upload the scanned image, both from Photos and Elements but the upload failed, although its still saying they have a size. How do you delete an attachment? Jack
  13. I've just bought an Epson ET-3750 scanner/printer. Because I'm on a Mac I've got to use the Apple driver. When I use Acquire Image and select the scanner, the result is totally unusable, is in greyscale, pixellated beyond belief and the process is incredibly slow. Works absolutely fine in Photoshop Elements. Can anyone advise please. Jack.
